************** READ ME FIRST **************

The first time you power on your computer Windows 10 Flag appears while files in background load. 1. “Let’s start with region. Is this right?”; United States is selected (leave this), click Yes.

2. “Is this the right keyboard layout?”; US is selected (leave this), click Yes.

3. “Want to add a second keyboard layout?”, click Skip.

4. “Let’s connect you to a network”; please connect an Ethernet cable into the computer or click Skip for now (bottom left). If you

are connected online with Ethernet cable it will check for updates. Don’t turn off your PC.

5. “Here’s the License Agreement”, click Accept.

6. If you clicked Skip for now to plug in an Ethernet cable, skip to step 9; if not proceed to next step.

7. “Sign in with Microsoft”; if you already have a Microsoft account sign in or click Create Account. We recommend you skip this step

by clicking Offline Account (bottom left corner).

8. Sign in with Microsoft Instead? Click No or Yes. Again we recommend you click No.

9. “Who’s going to use this PC?”; enter a user name, click Next.

10. “Create a super memorable password”; enter a password for your account, if you do not want a password leave the box blank. If

you do enter a password, you must remember it for each time you start your computer, click Next.

11. “Make Cortana your personal assistant?”; click No or Yes.

12. “Choose privacy settings for your device”; change any to your preference or leave all as defaults, click Accept.

13. “Hi” Windows will start to load all files (This might take several minutes), Don’t turn off your PC.

14. After Windows boots to the desktop, you must enter in the Product Key and activate Windows:

If you did not have the computer connected to internet you must finish the activation process for Windows.

YOU MUST NOW ACTIVATE WINDOWS, if you do not activate Windows NOW it will lock you out after 3 days!!

1) Right click on Start (bottom left corner)

2) Left click on “System”

3) Basic information about your computer will appear. Scroll down to the bottom right corner and click on

“Activate Windows” (If says Windows is Activated than you are done).

Your product key is located on the computer case; do NOT remove this sticker; we do not keep the product key on

file and won’t be able to supply a replacement.

**************** YOU MUST NOW ACTIVATE WINDOWS ****************

1. Please make sure you are connected to internet via either Ethernet cable in back of unit or via your own wireless

adapter. If you do not have internet you must activate by phone (follow steps and proceed to phone option).

2. IMPORTANT: Please check and make sure your date/time is set correctly.

3. On the desktop please double click on the KEYS icon “Enter your Product Key”; a popup will appear, click Yes.

4. You will need to locate the Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The COA is a sticker that will be attached to the

computer itself (example below) and contains your product key. On laptops this is attached either on the bottom of

the unit or underneath the laptop battery. On desktops it’s attached on the top back of the computer assuming the

machine is standing upright or one of the side panels if laying flat down.

5. Enter the product key in the window. When you enter in the product key be careful not to mix up 8’s with B’s; Y’s

with V’s; or 6’s with G’s as these are easily mistakable. Click Next.

6. Activate Windows appears, click Activate. If connected to internet it will say Windows is activated, you are done.

If you get an error message stating ‘Invalid Product Key” please re-enter the product key and double check each character.

If you are not connected to internet a screen will appear “Unable to activate Windows” and you will need to do so by phone.

Click Close and follow instructions below.

ACTIVATE BY PHONE:

Press the “Windows key + R” (Windows key is located next to ALT and has a flag on it). Popup will appear.

Type: SLUI.exe 4 (there is a space between “SLUI.exe” and “4”) hit ENTER.

Select your country or region and click Next. Installation ID screen will appear with phone number to call.
