UPC Carefully and Slowly Reopens

In response to COVID 19, the Session Board of United Presbyterian rec-

ommended that worshippers stay home Sundays through and including

Sunday, April 4.

Update! We continue worship of our God and Christ strongly, yet differently.

On Sunday, April 11, the Sanctuary will open for masked, socially distanced morning worship at

10:00 a.m.

and for each Sunday following.

The Session Board requests that only those who have completed their

COVID 19 vaccination attend.

Reverend John Napoli, the liturgist, Music Director Benjamin Watkins

and the technical crew will be in the sanctuary each Sunday to conduct a

live service for those with completed vaccinations wishing to attend

in-person and masked. That service will also be livestreamed on the

UPC YouTube Channel at

UPC Bloomington - YouTube.

Please email prayer requests to Pastor John at

[email protected] by 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

The 6 p.m. Tuesday Bible study and 6:30 p.m. Thursday prayer services

will remain on Zoom with no in-person attendance offered. To partici-

pate, simply email Rev. John at [email protected], if

you haven’t already done so, and request inclusion.

Use of the UPC facility by community groups remains restricted.

On Wednesday an extensive, professional disinfecting procedure was

implemented by A Magic Clean on both levels of the church.

FEBRUARY FINANCIAL REPORT The financial bump we normally expect in January was late this year. Good news: It showed up in February. Feb-ruary income was $25,329 and expenses were $13,625 giving us a positive balance of $11,704 for the month and $11,266 for the year to date. It’s that time of year again, when we ask those who are able, to pay their per-capita, which is $44 per member for this year. Don Root

Please Help with the 2021 Per Capita The Per Capita is an annual contribution made to the Presbytery of Ohio Valley, General Assembly, and Synod

for the services and support they provide to UPC. The church owes $2,728 for this year for our 62 members.

Any of you that can contribute $44 per family member are encouraged to. As always, thanks for your generous

contributions, both monetary and otherwise, that keep UPC going!

Thanks and blessings,

Andy Hill, Treasurer

Hill Climber Coffee is Back!!!!! After many requests, that wonderful coffee from the Colby's His Eyes Mission has returned.

This is UPC’s fourth 50 pound case of one pound bags!

Grown and harvested on the Honduran mountainside property of His Eyes,

it's a wonderful fund raiser for the mission.

Of the 50 one pound bags that came in on March 25 . . .

Only 20 left! Remaining are ten 1 lb. bags of regular grind and ten 1 lb. bags of dark roast.

Only $12 a bag! Get your order in now! Call Allen in the church office.

The Hill Climber Story.

His Eyes purchased property in Samepdrana Honduras (in the

mountains above Comayagua...you have to climb quite a few hills

to get there!) for the Church plant there in 2006 with the help of

Christ's Church in Jacksonville, Florida. The current church build-

ing and parsonage are both located on that property. Additionally

there were quite a few coffee plants. After selling that coffee to

use for the Church, the idea germinated and we started seeing how

we could plant and grow more coffee to help the Church and even-

tually the His Eyes Mission overall.

We now have farm administrators, volunteers and paid seasonal

help to take care of the now multiple properties, which include

nearly 20 acres above Sampedrana, and another nearly 20 acres

near another mountain village many miles (and climbing many

hills...sense a theme here?) in Las Botijas.

When you drink Hill Climber coffee, it helps us be able to pay our workers well, improve our facilities, and in

advancing this arm of the mission we eventually help us overall be less dependent on donations from abroad.

These photos illustrate the lush growing area found at each of the Hill Climber Coffee locations.

One Great Hour of Sharing at UPC

It has been a tradition at UPC to receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering during Easter

Sunday worship service. We certainly couldn’t do that this year. However, it’s still possible to utilize

the envelopes the Worship Team included in the Lent Packets mailed out just before Lent. The packets

contained two detail fliers on the One Great Hour of Sharing offering and its special envelope plus an

envelope addressed to UPC for return mail at your convenience. If you wish to participate in OGHS

this year, simply mail or drop off those envelopes at the church office by April 20.
