TODAY IS A FELLOWSHIP MEETING

THEME: ROTARY SERVING HUMANITY

The Reports were duly presented by the Directors Di-

ana, Winston, Elvin, PE Paul and Commander Willie Kir-

ton who presented on behalf of Director Annie Ber-

trand who is on leave. Rtn. Joe Johnson presented the

Treasurer’s Report as Director Joel Brathwaite was cur-

rently away. It was agreed that a comprehensive ac-

count would be provided of the Club’s Finances.

Today, President Lisa has sought leave to present the

Signature Project for this year to the members of the

Club at this mee3ng.

To facilitate this presenta3on, the following is again

provided to the Club for their review and discussion.

President’s Lisa’s wish is that following her presenta-

3on we as members would each address the issues

raised and discuss with her any ideas we may have so

that the project is both a successful and long las3ng

one.

NEWS FROM ROTARY CLUB OF BARBADOS WEST

The Rotary Club of Barbados West has announced it has

awarded the Rotary West 2016/2017 Scholarship to Miss Sha-

neanoh Carter and Miss Chloe Thompson. Miss Carter is pur-

suing the BSc Chemistry degree at the Faculty of Science &

Technology at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill

Campus and is currently enrolled in the final year of the four

year programme. While Miss Thompson is pursuing BSc in

Medicine at the Faculty of Science & Technology at the Uni-

versity of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.

PP ANDREW BYNOE PHF + 1 Sapphire

PP Andrew joined the Club on No-

vember 1, 1085 and served as

President during the year 1994-95.

During this ;me, his project fo-

cused on recognizing the compe-

tencies of those children who did

not excel in the annual Common

Entrance Exam. He worked with

the St. James Composite School to

develop the areas of reading and

music and con;nues to have a

keen interest in the improvement

of the educa;on system so that it also benefits slower learn-

ers from primary school onwards.

He has been a member of the Fund Raising Commi@ee and

con;nues to serve in this Commi@ee. He has also served on

the Senior Ci;zens & Challenged Commi@ee.

DIRECTOR DIANA DOUGLIN

Director Diana currently serves as

the Club Service Director. She has

been a member of RCoB since June

6, 2013 and her classifica;on is

Law. Director Diana believes in

the mo@o “Service above Self” and

during the last year she opened the

Community Challenge by building a

ramp for an amputee. This chal-

lenge marked the first of 12 under

President Jedder’s presidency and there can be no

doubt that Director Diana competently oversaw its in-

cep;on and comple;on.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2016 On Saturday September 17th at 6:00am we will team

up once again with the Environmental Protec;on De-

partment and our youth clubs to clean up the Mor-

gan Lewis Beach in St Andrew.

We are also seeking volunteers to meet at the UWI

Cave Hill campus to transport some rotaractors to St.
