Using Remote Control Manager
In the Remote Control Manager, you can configure the remote control and
customize each button to perform any task of your choice on the computer,
including opening certain applications or pressing a combination of keys.
When you start the Remote Control Manager, the main screen will appear:
List of existing profiles
There are several built-in profiles and they can be added into the list for
easy access. You can also add custom profiles to control other
applications.

2 Move down
Move the selected profile down in the list.

4 Edit
Edit the definition of buttons on the remote control to be used in the
application corresponding to the selected profile.
5 Apply
Apply the highlighted profile to the remote control.
6 Remove
Remove a profile from the list.
7 Add
Add a new profile to the list.
3 Move up
Move the selected profile up in the list.
Add a Profile
Click on the button and a list of built-in profiles will appear. You can
drag the slider on the right to browse the profiles. Click on an item and click
on the button to add it to the list.

find the profile you would like
to add to the list. If you wish
to create a custom profile,
select the “Empty” item.
Click on the profile and click
the “OK” button. The profile
will be added to the list.
Edit a Profile
Double-click a profile or click on the button after a profile is highlighted,
the panel will be expanded with a list of functions of all the buttons on the
remote control.
To change the function of a button, click the button on the remote control on
the screen, or double-click the name of the button on the right panel. When
you click on a button, its name on the right panel will light up, and vice versa.
For instance, if you want to modify the function of the button, click on it.
A dialog box will show up:

Key:
The name of the button.
Type:
You can choose the type of behavior for the button in the drop-down menu.
Each type contains several related functions.
PVR2: Performs the function defined in the WinFast PVR2 application.
MCE Key: Performs the function defined in the Windows Media Center.
Keyboard: Serves the same function as pressing a combination of up to
three keys on the keyboard. After you press the keys, the name
of keys you pressed will be displayed in the blanks.
Other HID: Performs functions defined in other devices, such as the
Windows Explorer and the web browser.
Exe File: Launches an executable file in your system. When you choose
this type, a dialog box will show up for you to locate the
application or executable you would like to launch when you
press the button on the remote control.
Other: Performs other functions related to the Windows system.
Function:
You can choose the exact function under each type of behavior.
Comment:
You can add your own description or comment for the button.
Save:
Click to save the changes made to this button.
Cancel:
Stop editing the button.
Reset:
Reset the button to its default function.

Reset all keys
Reset the current remote control configuration to the default.
Save
Save the remote control configuration to the current profile.
Cancel all keys
Abandon all of the unsaved changes and hide the right panel.
Save as
Save the current remote control configuration to a new profile.
Export
Export your remote control configuration to a ".dat" file.
Import
Import a saved remote control configuration setting (".dat" file) to your
Remote Control Manager.

Remote Mode Switch
When you start the Remote Control Manager, you will see a tip below:
As described in the tip, you can press and on the remote control
simultaneously for 5 seconds to launch the Remote Mode Switch:
With this tool, you can click on any tab
to quickly switch the remote control to
the corresponding mode.
You can also press the button on
the remote control* to launch the
Remote Mode Switch.
*Except for the PVR2 mode in which the
button has another function by default.
Remote Control Function Reminder
If and when you forget the functions of the buttons on the remote control, the
reminder can be a handy tool that provides a quick glimpse of what each
button does in the current mode.
To launch the reminder, press the button on the remote control*, and a
picture like the one below will appear:
*Except for the PVR2 mode in which the button has another function by default.

Up and down buttons
Chooses the part of the remote
control displayed in the reminder.

Function of the button
This tab displays the function of
the button in the current mode.
Mini Remote Control
The highlighted block on the
remote control denotes the part of
buttons currently displayed in the
reminder.
+ and - buttons
Click on “+” to enlarge the size of
each tab and fewer buttons will
be displayed. Click on “-” for the
other way around.
The number of buttons in the
reminder
You can choose to display 4, 8,
12, or 16 buttons in the reminder
with the “+” or “-” button.
