Who Immigrated

• William Bradford was my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather. He arrived in November

1620 from England on the Mayflower. • John Harpham was my Great-Great-Great-

Great-Great Grandfather who came to the USA from Lincolnshire, England.

When They Came

• Raymond Berry Loyal (my dad’s Grandfather) was born in Kentucky in 1894 and moved to

Detroit when he returned from World War I, to find a job in the city.

• Evelyn Carroll Bigelow (my dad’s grandmother) was born in Maine in1906 and moved to Detroit with her family because her dad worked for the railroad, and was commissioned to set up the

street cars in Detroit.

When They Came

• Charles Moses McClure (my mom’s Grandfather) was born in March 1910 in Covington Kentucky. • Marion Eva Maschmeyer McClure (my mom’s

grandmother) was born in June 1908 in Covington Kentucky. Her father was a Mailman in Covington, and she worked at American Book

Company in Cincinnati, OH• Marion and Charles were married in June of

1931 and moved to Michigan in 1936.

When They Came

• Morris Edward Harpham (my mom’s Grandfather) was born in Pleasant Lake IN, in November 1910• Mary Charlotte Hice Harpham (my mom’s Grandmother) was born in June 1915 in Ganges,

MI. Her father was a Methodist Minister. • Mary Charlotte and Morris were married in June

of 1939 in Plainwell MI. He was a farmer, and she was a graduate of Western Michigan

University, and was a teacher.

Why they Came

• Governor William Bradford came to find Religious Freedom in life, Freedom he was not

getting in England.• Raymond Berry Loyal came to find work in

Michigan in 1920.• Charles Moses McClure and Marion Eva

Maschmeyer McClure came to Niles Michigan for work at Kawneer Factory in 1936.

Where they Immigrated From

• Most of my family came from Europe mainly England, Scotland, Ireland and Germany. They

came on boats, ships and the Mayflower!

Where they Moved to• Most of my Family moved to

Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Kentucky and Indiana, before coming to

Michigan. • On my dad’s side my Great Grandparents

met in Detroit, Michigan and started a family.

• On my mom’s side, my Great Grandparents started their families in

Western Michigan.

Which all Leads down to…
