Dear Parent and Caregivers
The National Parent Opinion Survey has now closed. Survey information will be summarised and provided to the School Council in Term 3 before sharing with the school community through the newsletter, and via the Annual Report which is written late 2019/early 2020.
Mrs Tricia Stedman, Artist in Residence, has been working
with all students to create art works depicting the six
Aboriginal seasons of the year. It is anticipated that the art
works will be complete on Monday of next week and then
they will be proudly displayed around the central area of
the school grounds.
The P&C held a general meeting after the Year 3/4 Honour Award Assembly on Wednesday of this week. I am thrilled to share that we now have all committee positions filled and have confirmed an executive sub-committee.
A welcome on board is extended to: Rachel Livingston, President, Shona Kershaw, Vice president, Tamara Kuiper, Secretary and Denise Wolfenden, Treasurer. Voluntary Contributions and Charges Draw I would like to thank parents who have submitted their Voluntary Contributions and Charges for 2019. Congratulations to Irina Bawden who has won a winter jacket.
Kindergarten and Year 7 enrolments are now being called for. Parents are encouraged to contact the school office to complete relevant paperwork before the end of July. Records of immunisation are essential when enrolling your child.
During Semester 2 2018, David Robinson (D&T teacher) worked with select secondary students to create a signpost which was inspired by the annual Ravensthorpe Community Spring Festival. At long last and after much red tape we now have the signpost standing proudly in the centre of the school. A garden will be planted around the base of the sign with plants local to the region.
On our return to school in Term 3, all classes will take part in planting trees/shrubs around the school grounds as part of National Tree Day (Planet Ark) which is an annual event across Australia. I would like to extend an invitation to any parents/grandparents who might like to join us and share a ‘cuppa’.
Don Bell our school gardener will coordinate the event which will take place between 11:20 – 12:40.
On behalf of all staff we wish all families a safe
and enjoyable term break.
In good faith

On Friday the 21st of June, 28
students headed to Kojonup
Farm to participate in the 2019
Interschool Cross Country. At the
start of the day, the goal was set
for all students to come in the
top 20 in their individual race.
By the end of the day, everyone
had achieved that goal, with 21
top 10 finishes, six top 5 finishes
and three firsts.
We also won the
handicap shield,
beating out six other
schools and made
Mrs Clarke very
happy. We all came
home very tired and
very proud.
We would like to say
thank you to Mrs
Wendy Price for
driving us safely to
and from Kojonup
and cheering us on from her checkpoint. We would like to give a huge thank you to Mrs Clarke for
giving us the chance to go and helping us train but also all of the motivation that helped us through,
especially at the finish line.

Hi everyone As you may have heard we now have all the positions filled for the P&C!! Thanks to those that have stepped up into a role!! We will be having a meeting on Thursday 4th of July at 1.30pm in the assembly hall at the school. Please come along, this invitation is open to EVERYONE. We are wanting to put together a wish list for us to spend money on so that our kids can all have the best experiences at school!
If you have any ideas, please put them forward 😀 I have taken on secretary, a position very foreign to me as office work and myself just don’t go together!! But I am willing to give it a go!! Please don’t be too hard on me if things are not run as they should in the beginning as I too work and being the end of the financial year am very busy as most of us are!!
Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday 😀 Thanks Tam
We would like to thank
Esperance Freight Lines for
donating $250.00 to

Ravensthorpe District High School
would like to take this opportunity
to thank everyone that collected
“Woolworths” Earn and Learn
stickers for our school. They have
not yet been counted, but Mrs
Denise Wolfenden and Mrs Brenda
Kalalo have had plenty of “therapy”
sticking rolls of stickers onto sticker
sheets.
