RAUVISIO mineral – The solid surface material product rangePure creation with RAUVISIO mineral: The solid, through-coloured mineral material is made from one third acrylic resin and two thirds aluminium trihydroxide with colour pigments. The modern acrylic material is ideally suited for demanding and dimensionally accurate design solutions, e.g. in the kitchen, bathroom, shopfitting and in upmarket interior design. The product range comprises a complete system, consisting of worktops, processing accessories and mouldings.

RAUVISIO qUARtzUNLIMItED DESIGN POSSIBILItIES

RAUVISIO quartz is an industrially manufactured stone and, depending on the design, contains approx. 85 to 95 % natural materials, of which quartz is the main component, along with milled granite and feldspar. Another component is pigmented polyester resin, which provides the required colour and surface properties.

RAUVISIO quartz feels like natural stone. Due to its capillary-free and non-porous material and polished surface RAUVISIO quartz is particularly hygienic and easy to maintain and therefore surpasses natural stone. RAUVISIO quartz is particularly scratch and impact resistant. The surface of the material is uniform in structure and colour. The very fine pigmented materials give RAUVISIO quartz an outstanding, charming elegance.

The combination of natural stone and polymer components makes RAUVISIO quartz a material for exclusive applications. The clarity of the colours and also the cool, fresh look open a huge design potential. We will supply you with your individually planned and ready-processed board design. RAUVISIO quartz is supplied in a thickness of 12, 20 or 30 mm with a board basic format of approx. 3050 x 1400 mm. The production tolerances conform to DIN 18332 for natural stone.

Thermal loadingRAUVISIO quartz is heat resistant to 120 °C to DIN ISO 4586 T8 and 68930 when subjected to even exposure to heat. Avoid direct contact with heat sources (pots, pans, etc.). We recommend the use of suitable mats.

Equally, RAUVISIO quartz must not be exposed to any heat sources that are placed directly above the product (e.g. heat source on a food counter). This can lead to stress cracks and fractures in the material.

Mechanical loadingThe material is very hard and scratch resistant. To preserve the cutting blades and the surface of the worktop a suitable support should always be used for cutting.

In particular knives with ceramic blades or blades made from hardened steel also create deep cut marks on this hard material.

The sanded underside of ceramic or porcelain can cause scratches on polished surfaces.

Surface quality and colourSlight colour differences also cannot be excluded in boards from the same batch due to the high proportion of natural materials.

Milled drip surfaces and run-off channels can differ in gloss level and material structure to the original surface.

The products are not for outdoors and therefore are not suitable for atmospheric conditions (UV rays).

PROCESSING AND ASSEMBLY INFORMAtIONRAUVISIO qUARtz

ProcessingDue to the high quartz content, RAUVISIO quartz can only be processed using stone tools by specialist companies.

Storage and handlingRAUVISIO quartz products are only to be transported upright and in the direction of travel. Ensure here that the boards will not be exposed to heat directly and/or on one side. RAUVISIO quartz is suitable for indoor use. The product must not be stored outside.

Preparatory workRAUVISIO quartz reacts to differences in temperature with changes in dimension and tension. For this reason, the products are to be adapted to the appropriate internal climate prior to assembly. Depending on the transport temperature a period of 24 h to 48 h is to be observed.

InstallationEnsure stress-relieved installation of products in order to avoid damage through stress cracking, etc. A suitable substructure (e.g. floor cabinet) must be positioned so that it is level, so that pressure is not applied to the RAUVISIO quartz mounted on it if mismatch occurs. It is fastened to the floor cabinet (furniture) using silicone approved for natural stone. Polyurethane grout is recommended for assembly to a fixed level surface (e.g. stone).

ElongationDuring assembly, bear in mind that RAUVISIO quartz products react to differences in temperature with changes in dimension like any other building material. Expansion joints are to be used for this which are to be min. 5 mm wide for adjacent objects (e.g. wall, window boards). Silicone approved for natural stone is to be used for expansion joints and butt joints. In addition to this, fastening to upright objects (e.g. wall) must not take place, as lowering of the floor and therefore of the substructure of the worktop could lead to stress cracking.

CLEANINGtIPS AND RECOMMENDAtIONS

Maintenance and careMaintenance and care is not necessary with RAUVISIO quartz. Damage can be repaired using processes similar to those used on natural stone.

Cleaning tipsBuild-up of deposits (limescale, dirt, etc.) will be prevented with regular cleaning. Principally it is important to always treat soiling (particularly grease and oil) as quickly as possible.When examined under a microscope matt surfaces are coarser than polished surfaces. It is therefore to be borne in mind that matt surfaces require a higher degree of cleaning than polished surfaces. We recommend the RAUVISIO cleaning set.

In most cases immediate treatment with warm water, soap (pH value less than 10.5) and a mesh microfibre cloth is sufficient.

If bleaching agents are used to treat heavy soiling, the agent should be tested for its discolouration properties before in a hidden place on the product.The material can be disinfected using agents based on a glucoprotamine and quarternary ammonium compound (QAV). The manufacturer’s recommen-ded application is to be observed when doing this.
