Cabinets, drawers and shelves To ensure they’re really durable we put the weight of enough dinner plates to feed your child’s football team on a shelf and kept it there for a week.

Sinks If it’s one thing a sink has to put up with, it’s water. Stainless sinks are dipped into salt water to make sure there’s no corrosion. Ceramic sinks are tested so they don’t crack when you pour hot pasta water into them.

Kitchen fronts Breakfast, lunch and dinner. You open your cabinets many times each day. We hang 5 lbs on a door and then open and close it 200,000 times to ensure it withstands years and years of everyday use.

Faucets You use the faucet a lot – washing, pouring and rinsing. We test durability by turning it on and off 500,000 times. Then we switch from hot to cold another 140,000 times and make sure that there are no leaks.

Countertops Your countertop must withstand hot plates and splashes of tomato sauce, so we drench our NUMERÄR and PRÄGEL laminate countertops in water, oil and coffee and then we impact-test the top and edges to make sure they’re durable.

Washing zone Since the sink is often used

during food prep, it makes sense to place it in

between the fridge and the cooking area. It will

make rinsing veggies and draining pasta that

much easier. And with cabinets nearby for your

dinnerware and cutlery, putting the dishes away

is a little more convenient.

Storage zone Good food storage can make all

the difference in a kitchen. Keep in mind that

storage includes both a place for dry goods and

the refrigerator, and that it’s always helpful to

have a bit of counter space next to them for

unloading groceries.

you’ll create a more natural, ergonomic workflow.

Energy efficient choices

Factoring energy efficient solutions into your

kitchen planning is good for the planet, as well as

your long-term energy bills. Induction cooktops

are much faster and energy effecient than tradi-

tional cooktops. Because the zones transfer heat

directly to the base of the cookware, very little

heat is wasted. Another smart way to save energy

is by using pots and pans that fit the zones of your

electric cooktop. When pots are too small, heat

leaks will occur and energy consumption increases.

1. Cookware convenience Making your famous

bolognese is easier when the garlic press is just an

arm's length away in the top drawer and the pots

and pans are stored around the range. Deep

drawers that pull out all the way let you see

everything at once and reach things easily.

2. An ideal workspace The best place to prepare

your meals is right between the cooking unit and

the sink. This surface also gives you a bit of space

for unloading hot dishes straight from the oven.

3. Better lighting, safer cooking Integrated

lighting under your wall cabinets will make your

work and cooking space a much brighter and safer

one when you're chopping and slicing.

tools. Your walls become space savers and

Things run smoother in the kitchen when you

can get most of your work done in one area.

The space between your range and sink is ideal

for preparing food, close to the sink for rinsing

veggies and fruits. So why not use the space

under the sink for waste sorting?

Individual bins for recycling and trash keep

things nice and neat. Large plastic ones are

easy to keep clean.

1. Make space 15-24" next to your sink is

ample enough space for a dish drainer. If you

don’t have enough room, you can hang it from

a rail on the wall instead.

2. Lighting the sink Apart from a strong

general light for the entire kitchen, it's important

to have good lighting focused around the sink.

It can also serve as mood lighting when the

general light is off.

3. Clean dishes, clean conscience It might

sound unlikely, but a fully-filled dishwasher

actually uses less water than washing and rinsing

by hand. It’s good for your monthly bill and the

environment alike.

Wash and rinse Not every kitchen has the space for a two-bowl sink. But there’s nothing a bit of clever planning can’t solve. All you need is a simple wash-tub placed next to the sink for rinsing dishes. This method also saves more water than running them under the faucet.

What will be done to correct the problem?IKEA will examine the product and decide if it’s covered under this limited warranty. IKEA through its own service operations or authorized service partner, will then, at its choice, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. In these cases, IKEA will be responsible for the costs of repairs, spare parts, labor and travel for repair staff that IKEA incurs, provided that the product is accessible for repair without IKEA incurring additional expenditure to gain access. This will not apply in cases where repair work has not been authorized by IKEA (or its authorized service partner). Any defective parts removed in the course of repair works will become the property of IKEA. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement. APPLIANCES What is covered under this limited warranty? This limited warranty covers faults of the appliance, which have been caused by faulty construction or material faults from the date of purchase from IKEA. This limited warranty applies to domestic use only. The exceptions are specified under the headline “What is not covered under this limited

warranty?” Within the limited warranty period, the costs to remedy the fault i.e., repairs, parts, labor and travel will be covered, provided that the appliance is accessible for repair without special expenditure. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA.

How long is the limited warranty valid?This limited warranty is valid for five (5) years from the original date of purchase of the IKEA appliance from IKEA. LAGAN appliances have a one (1) year limited warranty valid from the original date of purchase. If service work is

carried out during the limited warranty period, this will not extend the limited warranty period for the appliance, or the new parts.

Which appliances are covered under this limited warranty?The five-year (5) limited warranty is valid for all IKEA appliances, except for LAGAN and RANSBY appliances, that have a 1-year limited warranty.

What is not covered under this limited warranty?• Normal wear and tear. • Deliberate or negligent damage, damage caused by failure to observe operating instructions, incorrect installation or by connection to the wrong voltage, damage caused by chemical or electro-chemical reaction, rust, corrosion or water damage including but not limited to damage caused by excessive lime in the water supply, damage caused by abnormal environmental conditions. • Consumable parts including batteries and lamps. • Non-functional and decorative parts which do not affect normal use of the appliance, including any scratches and possible color differences. • Accidental damage caused by foreign objects or substances and cleaning or unblocking of filters, drainage systems or soap drawers. • Damage to the following parts: ceramic glass, accessories, dishware and flatware baskets, feed and drainage pipes, seals, lamps and lamp covers, screens, knobs, casings and parts of casings. Unless such damages can be proved to be due to production faults. • Cases where no fault could be found during a technician's visit. • Repairs not carried out by our appointed service providers and/or an authorized service contractual partner or where non-original parts have been used. • Repairs caused by installation which is faulty or not according to specification. • The use of the appliance in a non-domestic environment i.e., professional use. • Transportation damages. If a customer transports the product to their home or other address, IKEA is not liable for any damage that may occur during transport. However, in case of IKEA delivery of the product to the customer’s delivery address, then eventual damages to the product that occurs during this delivery will be covered by IKEA (but not under this limited warranty).
