• a way to recruit MFL teachers for schools in
England from Spain
• established in 2016 in England
• the programme for England is run in
collaboration between The Department for
Education (DfE) and The Ministry of
Education and Vocational Training in Spain
• available to primary schools and secondary
schools
• randstad are the only recruitment provider

● we will be able to bring you qualified teachers from Spain to teach MFL – with no recruitment fees.
● each teacher recruited through the programme is provided with a fully funded acclimatisation package in order to assist in the transition to living and teaching in England.
● candidates for 2019/20 have attended an assessment centre in Madrid in March 2019; successful candidates will become available for interview (via Skype or similar) with schools for particular vacancies from W/C 25th March

• we have developed an interactive platform to improve the candidate journey. This was sent to all
candidates who were invited to assessment centre.
• this includes information such as a guide to teaching in England, salary information and videos of
teachers in England

assessment planning - group task. The task focuses on:
• personal attitude
• behaviour management
• creative lesson planning
• overcoming challenges
• personal resilience
• solutions focused approach
this supports us to identify candidates who are
resilient and solutions focused and will support with
retention

• candidates are asked to read 5 scenarios relating to
behaviour management and are asked to
provide written feedback on how they would deal
with these incidents.
• select an answer - a,b,c - they must select their
preferred answer a, b or c and circle one of them.

they must then explain the reasons why they have
chosen this answer, including next steps and any
feedback you would give to the class or individual.

this is significant saving for your school
• fully interviewed, experienced candidates – all candidates have gone through a thorough vetting and
interview process with specialists in Education. Peace of mind, you can spend your time focusing on
areas that will allow you to get to know the candidate better
• motivated & committed candidates, keen to attend interview, keen to move to England. You will not
be wasting your valuable time with candidates that are not suitable or serious about your role
• supporting the retention of your teaching team – the acclimatisation package means the teachers get
what they need to succeed in an English school and therefore are much more likely to stay with you
and support the children within your school

What do I need to do next ?
• teaching pool of 61 candidates will be available to schools from 25th March
• if you have a MFL role or think you might have , register your interest at
[email protected] or call Alison 07917 213749 or Paul 0161 200 1912 ext 258
• our DfE contract tem will respond to you within 24 hours
• they will take a full job description , person spec and find out about your school and
children
• they will then review the teaching pool and match you to potential teachers
• once the match has been completed they will present you with the candidate profile
including a video and material form the assessment day
• interviews will be arranged at a mutually convenient time
• when you make an offer you will make the offer through Randstad
• Once offer accepted acclimatisation starts

the programme
• the aim of the programme is to support Schools in England to access a pool of talented teachers from
Canada, North America, Australia and New Zealand
• the programme focuses on the skill shortage areas of Maths and Physics and gives Schools another
recruitment channel
• Schools benefit from a fully funded recruitment and acclimatisation programme that is delivered by
experts from the world of recruitment and Education
• DfE have partnered with recruitment specialists who are part of the DfE International recruitment
framework to deliver the programme

role of Randstad Education
• develop and manage a candidate pipeline
• select and Interview suitable candidates
• work closely with our Schools to match potential teachers to your Maths or Physic vacancy
• support the School and candidate through contract negotiation
• support with advice on Visa’s and moving to England
• promote the programme throughout the country
• support with acclimatisation event

how does the programme work
• interested schools register their interest with Randstad Education
• we will take a full job description, person specification and find out more about the school, your vision and goals
• Randstad Education will identify suitable candidates and match them to your role and provide you with a full CV
and video profile of your potential candidate
• Randstad Education will support you and arrange all interviews (normally via Skype or teleconference)
• Randstad Education will work with you and the candidate to confirm offers and contracts
• once offer confirmed acclimatisation programme kicks in

commitment to the recruitment process
A service level agreement has been created by the DFE to ensure commitment to the recruitment and acclimatisation
process and the new teacher. Use this as a guide to the overall process and expectations
• when presented with a shortlist, interview dates and times to be arranged within 48 hours
• interviews to be held within 5 days of presentation of the shortlist
• within 48 hours of the interview to provide full feedback to Randstad regarding job offers/rejection – verbally
• follow up with a written offer letter and contract (if able) within 1 week of the verbal offer
• sign and return DFE SLA to Randstad within 48 hours of receiving

your commitment to your new teacher
• you must allocate a mentor who will be responsible for curriculum guidance
• ensure your new teacher has access to your schools CPD
• treat your new teacher as you would any other permanent employee and encourage them
to contribute the wider school community
• offer a contract of a minimum of 1 year
