What am I doing 1year from now? What am I doing 5 years from now? How do I plan to get there?

One year

• In one year I plan to be enrolled in a community college or trade school living in my own apartment working at a part time job. And to move out from EHC.

Five years from now?

• Five years from now I plan to be finished with college and live in a single family home with my daughter and enroll her into public school. I should be working in a government job based on the degrees I will have.

How I plan to get there

• Buy looking up colleges, and finding out basic info and write down some government jobs in this area that can be a possibility of employment I will also explore and find out about the cost for living here. School will be the main thing on how I plan to get there.

• PVCC

• Blue Ridge Community college

ITT Tech Institute

• Admissions – you must take a test unless you pass your act’s. you have to take an English and math test with an overall score of 400 or better. You also must have your diploma or a G.E.D., You even have to schedule an on campus tour with a ITT Tech representative.

• Classes I want to take are courts and the criminal justice system, introduction to criminal justice, criminal justice organization and administrations, and criminology. For all these classes I will receive four credits for each class.

• Average cost – $45,000 its $470.oo per credit and theirs 98 credits total.

PVCC

• Admissions- if you are 18 or older you may apply your self but if you are younger then 18 you must have a diploma or an G.E.D., if not you must take a placement test.

• Cost -$110.65 per credit it includes tuition $101.00 per credit, institutional fee which is $1.75 per credit, student activity fee $1.40 per credit, and last but not least the technology fee $6.50 per credit.

• Classes I will like to take if I were to go to PVCC is algebra 2, United States History 2, and The Evolution of Air & Space Power.

Blue Ridge Community College

• Admissions- you have to have a diploma or be 18 years or older and must be able to benefit from a program of study at BRCC.

• Classes I would take here at BRCC is Spanish, chemistry, psychology, and photography.

• It would cost is undetermined but you could apply for grants that will be a big help or you could receive a loan if needed.

Jobs In The Area

• Court Officer- starting pay is $34,830 salary and require you to have a high school diploma or equivalent. You also have to have a college credit from psychology, or criminal justice.

• Correction Officer- staring pay is $38,380 salary and require you to a H.S diploma and 2 years of college.

• Loss prevention Detective- starting pay is $21,975 salary and require you to have either a community college of vocational school that offers those course credits.

Living in New York City

• In New York renting cost from $1,000+ compare to Charlottesville, Virginia which is from $600. + for a 1-3 bedroom.

• There will be a lot of other expense you will need to cover while living in an apartment such as food, books, clothes, toilet paper and etc. To manage all this you should create a budget plan so it help you balance out your money and live more comfortable. This way you know how much money you should have left after all bills to get your needs and wants.
