Report for the period from August 17, 2019 to September 24, 2019

1. Examinations: -

i) Internal: - a) The third monthly Examination for V to X was held from 17.08.2019 to 20.08.2019. b) The Pre-Test Examination for class X started on 21.09.2019 and would continue

till 30.09.2019.

ii) External: - a) The International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO – 2019) organised by

SOF was held on 6 September, 2019. 598 Boys from V to IX appeared in this examination.

b) The Science Talent Search Examination (STSE) 2019 – organised by Jatiya Bijnan Parishad was held on 8 September, 2019. 551 Selected boys of V to IX appeared in the examination.

c) The Science Aptitude and Talent Search Teat (SATST) – 2019 was held on Sunday 15 September, 2019. 599 Boys from V to IX appeared in this examination.

d) The Achievement cum Diagnostic Test in Mathematics (ADTM) – 2019 organised by CPSM was held on 21 September, 2019. 522 Boys from V to IX appeared.

2. Cultural Competition: - a) The Annual short story writing competition for the boys of VI and VII was held on

24.08.2019. b) The Annual Tabla playing competition was held on 24th August, 2019 at Senior Section.

2019 was held on 31.08.2019 at V.C. Hall. Result – 1st – Class XII

2nd – Class X

3rd – Class VIII

e) The Annual Essay Writing Competition was held on 01.09.2019 for the students of V to IX. The students of X & XI also participated.

3. Cultural Programme:-

a) Sri Krishna Janmastami was observed on 23rd August, 2019 at Senior Section Assembly Hall.

b) On 05.09.2019, Teachers’ Day was observed. This is for the first time the programme was organised at V.C. Hall from 10.45 am. The President was Swami Devarajanandaji Maharaj from Belur Math, the Chief

guest was Mani Shankar Mukherjee, a famous writer and Sheriff of Kolkata. Teachers performed in ‘Geeti Alekhya’ and Mime on Environment Students also participated to pay their respect to teachers. All enjoyed the function.

Our revered Secretary Maharaj addressed the welcome speech and our Headmaster Maharaj delivered the Vote of Thanks. The programme was a huge success.

c) Bhavan Jayanti: On 29.08.2019, Swami Advaitananda Jayanti and on 23.09.2019 Swami Abhedananda Jayanti were observed respectively with due reverence. All ashramites took Prasad at noon. The Bhavanas were colourfully decorated by our boys.

4. Sports: a) The final matches of Rathayatra Football

Tournament were held on 28.08.2019 (for class VI) and 31.08.2019 (for class VII) and prizes were distributed after the match. Result: From V: Champion – Section – D Runners up – Section – A From VI: Champion – Section – A Runners up – Section – D

b) Two friendly football matches were played between class XII & XI on

04.09.2019 & 07.09.2019 at

Ashrama Stadium ground. In both the matches class XII won.

c) The Swimming Competition – 2019 was held on 8th September, 2019. 70 selected students from VIII to XII participated.

f) On 16.09.2019, Table Tennis Tournament was also held at the Junior Section. Result: - Group A: Class V –

g) A friendly football match (under – 12) was organised on 19.09.2019 between Rajpur Club and Vidyalaya Junior Football Team (V & VII). Our team won by 1-0 margin.

h) A friendly football match (under – 13) was organised on 21.09.2019 between Garia Srirampur Kalyan Samity and Vidyalaya Junior Football Team (V, VI & VII). Our team was defeated by 2-1 margin.

5. Students’ Achievement & Recognition: a) Some students of our Vidyalaya participated in ‘Puratani

– A Nostalgia’ Inter School Drawing Competition – 2019 organised by Alumni Association of Ramakrishna Asrama Institute (Co-ed) on 25.08.2019. Three boys were awarded prizes.

b) Some students of class VIII participated in Draupadi Devi Khaitan Inter-school Hindi Debate Competition on 29.08.2019 at BDMI.

c) The following students of class IX participated in TCS IT WIZ – 2019 on 30.08.2019 at Kala Mandir, Kolkata.

e) The following students have participated in National Level General Knowledge Quiz Competition “Canara Knowledge Champ” at GD Birla Sabhaghar – organised by Canara Bank held on 08.09.2019.

f) Our students participated in Youth Convation on the occasion of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address organised by Advaita Ashrama, 2019. Adrish Chakraborty (X-E) bagged the second rank in the Elocution Competition. The topic was ‘Ideal Student Life – according to Swami Vivekananda axnd how to build it’.

g) Miscellaneous – On 20.09.2019, Demonstration classes for class X was held and teachers delivered their important advice and suggestion for the ensuing Madhyamik Examination.
