RIMRD Students Participation in Blood Donation Camp arranged by Ekyaan

Foundation, Pune

Objective of Programme:

To create awareness and motivate people for Blood Donation.

To help anyone, in case of any requirement for blood.

Description of Programme:

2 staff members of RIMRD, along with 17 students participated in this camp.

The blood donations is ananged by Ekyaan Foundation, Pune.

Outcome:

Students learn about benefits from blood donation

Students understand their social responsibilities

Students leam to participate in program which is ananged by other organization.

An activity of E-Waste Collection & Submission

Objectives of Programme:

1) To collect e-waste from our home and sunoundings

2) To submit collected e-waste to PMC's (Pune Municipal Corporation) E-waste collection

center, Dhankawadi

3) To create awareness among the students regarding increasing e-waste


RIMRD and social souls cell initiated an activity to collect e-waste and to submit it in the PMC's

E-waste collection center, Dhankawadi

E-WASTE COLLECTION

Defined as the waste generated from used electronic and electrical appliances which are not for

their intended use. E waste is classified as a hazardous waste because it contains many toxic

ingredients including halogenated compounds PCBs and heavy metals. Presently collected by

bhangarwallas and scrap shops around the city it makes its way to scrap markets. Collection,

segregation, dismantling reuse, recycle refurbishment, export, open buming and land

Pune region, which includes Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad, the cantonment areas around Pune

and the IT belt in Hinjewadi, generates around 10,000 MT per annum.

Formation of core committee

Review of activities according to work packages

Conducted a study through their field staff to understand how scrap shops in the informal

economy deal with E waste

Designed printed and distributed IEC material

Various workshops organized for awareness ofcitizens, students and waste generators

Tie up with formal recyclers

E-waste collection drives, 'V collect', are organized by PMC

19 Students have collected e-waste from their surroundings and submitted to PMC's (Pune

Municipal Corporation) E-waste collection center, Dhankawadi

Outcome:

Objectives of Programme:

1) To understand problems of old age people

2) To inculcate habit of helping and caxing among the students.


Rajgad Institute of Management Research & Development, orgarized food

donation social activity.

The food donation was held on 1lm January 2017 atMauli Old Age Home & Care

Center. The grocery is given to Dr. Prashant Waman.

Outcome:

Students understood problems of old age people Students leamt the importance of

food donation.

Total 28 students participated in food donation activity.

We celebrate Social Souls Day on the occasion of birthday ofour Hon. Founder, President Hon.

Shri. Anantrao Thopte Saheb. RIMRD in association with Moraya Blood Bank, Chichwad had

organized blood donation camp In Rajgad Institute of Management Research & Development,

Pune 43. The camp was held on 1lth January 2017 at ground floor.

Total 52 students have participated in this activity.


Students leamt about blood donation and its advantages.

Students understand thejoy of giving for a social cause.

Donated blood will be used for needy citizens.

The lecture was conducted by Dr. Vikram Gaikwad & Mrs. Yojana Tatkar and

was held on 20th August 201,6 atfirst floor classroom no l.

Session was very useful and with knowledge. Students understood about Aids &

sexually transmitted diseases. They clariff their doubts in question & answer

session. The program was useful for all students.

Aim of planting tree is to restore native forests around village to protect water

supplies.Plantingoftreesand their care is holy act. Onetreeis equated to 10

children. Planting trees reduces carbon dioxide, a principal green house gas that

contributes to global warming.

To express our concern to the environment,

To diminish the unfavorable effects of climate change by tree plantation


RIMRD in association with Shashwat Sheti Vikas Pratishthan had orsanized

'Tree Plantation Program' at Taljai Pathar.

Program was coordinated by Prof. Roshna Jaid.


Students learnt about importance of tree plantation. Students enjoyed tree

plantation activity at Taljai Pathar.

All Staff and total 10 students attended this program.
