The St. Edward Catholic Community is grateful for the holy priests who have led the parish and the deacons who

have supported them. This week ,we feature the clergy who serve us and lead us to fulfill our mission to build the

Kingdom of God, welcoming and loving others through Worship. Here is a small biography of each of our clergy.

Fr. Christian Bui

Fr. Bui's favorite New Testament verse: "For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that whosoever

believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16.

Fr. Christian Hoang Bui was born in Lam Don, and was baptized as an infant in Giáo sứ tan thân, Bao Loc Lam Don,

Vietnam. Fr. Bui was ordained at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral in Houston, Texas on May 29, 2004 and has been the

pastor of St. Edward since 2013. Fr. Bui prays that in 50 years, St. Edward Catholic Church will be 100 percent strong

in faith.

Interesting Fact: Fr Bui has two sisters who are religious sisters.

Fr. Thomas Joseph

"The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. Luke 4:18

Fr. Thomas is in the Society of the Oblates of the Sacred Heart and was ordained on December 27, 1994. He was born

and baptized in the State of Kerala, India, where he still has family. Fr. Thomas has a brother that is a priest in

southwest Houston. His vision for the parish is to build up the community. His inspiring Old Testament verse is

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew You. Before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nation, I

appointed you.” Jeremiah 1:5

Interesting Fact: The Apostle Thomas arrived in Fr. Thomas Joseph's home state of Kerala, India in 52 A.D., where he

founded the extant church.
