Radio Trailer Stages of Development

The first stage was to add some tracks into Garageband for us to add our own clips into. Here you can see the tracks being inserted as ‘Real Instrument Tracks’.

Here is the sound file from the documentary. This was used to take certain sound clips from, to put into the radio trailer. We did this by exporting the documentary as a ‘wave’ file so that it was compatible with GarageBand.

Here you can see the sound file has been cut into segments, using ‘command T’ we cut out the bits of sound we wanted from the radio trailer.

We then went out and recorded some extra bits for the introduction of our radio trailer. We got several people to say different stereotypes into the mic and then just like we did with the documentary uploaded them to final cut, exported them as ‘wave’ files and then uploaded them to GarageBand to add them in to the start of our radio trailer as you can see we had them play after eachother.

The next stage was to go off and record Kyle and myself narrating the voiceover to our radio trailer. Once we had finished recording we uploaded it to final cut, exported it to a ‘wave’ file so that it was compatible with GarageBand and finally uploaded it there. Once uploaded we cut it up into segments again just like we did with the documentary sound file. By this time we had a pretty good idea as to where we wanted what sound clips and in what order so as you can see below, the radio trailer looks as if it’s coming together nicely.

The final stage was to add the music. As you can see we chose ‘Jam_1’ we found this track fitted in nicely with the theme of our radio trailer as we wanted it to be comical.

And this is the final product.
