Radio Trailer Gypsy elliemay izzy.aif- The start of the trailer has stuck with the house style of channel 4 by using the backing music making the audience relate to that certain unique sound. Furthermore, they also use the word ‘exclusive’ to channel 4, which also grabs the audience attention due to the certain word exclusive. This trailer offers a range of grab quotes throughout the start of the audio to the very end of it. Fast edited montage of vox pops during the first 13 seconds of the trailer with the backing beat keeping the piece of the trailer and audience’s engagement. By picking these vox pops, it shows that teens are very careless by the use of alcohol. This engages the target audience for the radio trailer and suggests that they’re of that age. This will lure in those of that age range into the documentary as well as the radio advert. Rhetorical questions being asked to the audience with the support from vox pops to answer them, this shows that the facts being told are shocking those being interviewed (this will lead onto the audience possibly being shocked from these facts). She ends by using the title of the documentary and when it’ll be played/ where it will be shown. Furthermore, by using an intense backing track, creates a more serious atmosphere to the trailer whilst still engaging the audience. After the introduction, it then uses a grab quote from a television program to further the audience’s engagement whilst luring them into being interested within their documentary. She then adds more factual information which is then followed from her expert interview from the documentary, explaining what domestic violence actually is. They then conclude the trailer by adding when the documentary is being shown and where to watch it. They also use a heightened sound effect of a door closing to show domestic violence happens behind closed doors.
