PROPOSAL

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Radar Technology Ltd. is pleased to submit thisproposal in response to the Request for Proposal for aRadar Training System.

Radar Technology Ltd. is a Canadian owned company basedin Ottawa which specializes in the manufacture andmaintenance of radar systems. Radar Technology Ltd.has over 15 years experience in field of radartechnology.

2.0 PROPOSED SYSTEM

The proposed Radar Training System (RTS) is illustratedin Figure 1.0. It will consist of two stations (onefor the instructor and one for the student) housed inthe same cabinet. A divider will be present betweenthe two stations which is large enough to prevent thestudent from looking at the instructor's screen, butsmall enough that the instructor can look around at thestudent's screen and/or communicate with him verbally.

There is a tape backup device to allow the backup ofthe operating and system files in case of a systemcrash. An audio recorder is provided which may beturned on at the beginning of the training system. Theaudio recorder is housed in the cabinet, but does notinterface with the RTS. A data recorder records thestudent's training session. There is a directinterface between the data recorder and the student'schassis. The data recorder does not interface with theinstructor's station.

The operating system for the RTSapplication software is writtenlanguage "C".

is UNIX based. Thein the programming

The proposed RTS will be able to simulate the functionsof a radar system in the land, sea, and airenvironments through the same hardware and softwareconfiguration. The instructor will choose theenvironment prior to the training session and the RTSwill load that environment for that session. Note that
