Technical reqirement of spacers

Spacers shall be made of material which do not conduct electricity and permanently resistant to chemical corrosion

Each element is a flexible section with a toothed mail strap at one end and an appropriately toothed female on the other end.

This system allows the modular composition of rings according to different O.D.

RACI spacers can be used from 1” up to 140” O.D. pipe.

To choose the right elements you need the following data:

Chose the type of elements according to the different diameter range shown in the table. You have to use the real outside diameter of the carrier pipe.

At the extremity of pipe we recommend

2 rings (in order to avoid problems

during the inserting operations)


Different heights: why?

To guarantee better centring, the elements are available with different height (F25, F41, F60, F75…)

Different heights do not influence the spacer’s carrying capacity (E25 are stronger than F25, but F41 are not stronger than F25)


How to define the spacer’s height

If: O.D. = carrier pipe outside diam. H = height of element s = tolerance (from 12 to 15 mm) i.d. = casing pipe inside diam.

Technical data


Long crossing (> 150 m)

In case of very long crossing or very heavy carrier pipes, we suggest particular elements named “E and H reinforced type”

The distance between the single insulator ring is not fixed, but it must be changed in critical areas

Assembly – phase 1

Insert the male butt-strap (overlap: 3 teeth), using the number of elements required by carrier pipe O.D.


Wrapping the ring around the pipe close it at the extremity



Fasten the ring around the pipe guarantee the better result of the job

Our special tool is properly designed in order to obtain the better fixing

Icreasing grip by tape

In case of plastic carrier pipe (PVC-PE or smooth surfaces) it is necessary to tape the contact area between spacers and pipe in order to avoid movements during the insertion.


End Seal

Once the carrier pipe is in the casing pipe the job have to be finished by two end seal at the extremities of the pipe

Two possible solutions: Espansit end-seal with stainless steel

straps or heat-shrinkable sleeves
