1 In his paper Singular Terms, Truth-value Gaps, and Free Logic, van Fraassen opens with a very

brief introduction of the problem of non-referring names. He indicates that he sees no good reason to call statements which employ

them either true or false. Some have attempted to solve this problem by means of many-valued logics, and van Fraassen states that he would not argue against such a thing. However, he

thinks that free logic is more apt and convenient to explain the natural language.



1 Instead of any unique formalization, though, he simply adjusts the axioms of a standard predicate logic such as that found in W.V.O. Quine|Quine's Methods of Logic. Instead of

an axiom like \forall x\,Px \Rightarrow \exists x\,Px he uses ( \forall x\,Px \and \

exists x\,(x = a)) \Rightarrow \exists x\,Px. Thus, if a name fails to refer, then it will be

assigned a truth value here—which, naturally, will be true, because the

existential claim of the antecedent is false.

1 In a Gujarati village, Ranjaar, infamous for its uninhibited

manufacture and sale of arms and ammunition (weapons are sold like vegetables at the place), two clans,

Rajadi and Sanera, have been at odds with each other for the past 500

years



1 During the festival of Holi, Ram boldly enters the house of the Sanera heads and flirts with Leela (Deepika

Padukone), while her mother, Dhankor Baa (Supriya Pathak|Supriya

Pathak Kapur), the chieftain of the Saneras, is busy arranging a match

for her daughter with a simple-minded Non-resident Indian|NRI.



1 Kanji (Sharad Kelkar), Leela's elder brother, angered by Ram's entry in the

house, bribes the local police to raid the house of Rajadi heads, but Ram manages

to convince the policemen to leave in exchange for a set of his blue films. Ram and Leela get romantically involved and plan to elope but a grim turn of events

follows when Kanji accidentally kills Meghji, and is in turn killed by Ram.



1 To escape the suffering, Ram and Leela elope and marry but Ram's friends trace them and trick Ram by making him drunk and knock him out of his senses. They send an SMS

informing the Saneras of their location from Ram's phone. The next morning, Leela is forcibly taken back home by Bhavani, her

cousin, while Ram is hailed as a hero by the Rajadis for soiling the reputation of Leela, and her chieftain. He is rewarded by being

made the new chieftain of the Rajadi.



1 Leela still retains faith in Ram and sends Rasila (Richa Chadda), widow

of Kanji, to give Ram an ultimatum to take her away. Rasila, however is

molested by Ram's friends and when Dhankor Baa learns of this, she sends

Bhavani and other men to assault Kesar (Barkha Bisht Sengupta),

Meghji's widow, who manages to evade them.



1 In response to the attempt on Kesar, Ram storms into Leela's house and

incapacitates the guards single-handed. He then requests Dhankor Baa to

consider negotiation for peace, following which she invites him for a function at home with the intention to kill Ram.

However, at the event, Bhavani secretly shoots and seriously injures Dhankor Baa

but the Rajadis are blamed.



1 Leela is made the chieftain and gets busy tending to her mother. Ram and Leela bitterly carry out a negotiation

with the sarpanch but Bhavani manipulates things and makes Leela blindly sign a document ordering the

killings of Rajadis.



1 During Dusshera, as the Ramlila parade is ending, many Rajadis are killed and the village is on the brink

of war, which Ram senses

familiar and the fresh. The technical aspects of the film are extraordinary:

surrendered to the director's vision and delivers a power-packed performance.



1 Mihir Fadnavis of First Post (India)|Firstpost writes Ram Leela has the soul of a cynical old noir peppered with a few small glimmers of

masala. The direction, outstanding production design, gorgeous cinematography are supported by a surprisingly strong cast, and Padukone is a wild-eyed anchor in a sea

of formula. Three years ago you'd never have expected her to improve so drastically and command the kind of energy she does now. Ranveer, on the other hand, is a weak link.

Krishna. Today, Raas is not only an important part of Navaratri in Gujarat

but extends itself to other festivals related to harvest and crops as well.

1 Initially, most songs were about Lord Krishna, but songs about love, praise of warriors who fought gallant wars, and the Goddess Durga, and even

Muslim Raas songs were born.



1 The motif is also found represented in trade textiles as early as the 15th century in the

prestigious double ikats woven with silk threads (known as patolas) that were traded

by Indian (and later European traders) for Southeast Asia's spices. Most originated in Gujarat, the most famous of all of India's

patola centres. Because of their rarity and perceived value, we are lucky to have some

still in existence today emerging from Indonesian collections.



1 It is common to think that Raas has to be fast, but that is not the case. Grace and slow

movements are just as important. With the advent of C-60 cassettes came the pre-recorded

non stop Raas music. Soon it overtook the individual Raas items which are rarely recorded nowadays. The disco beat and use of western

drum became popular, but you can still visit fine arts college in Vadodara during Navaratri where

the musicians sit in the centre and play while people dance around them.

he will see one girl from each raashee (zodiac sign). Devu’s wife asks Yogesh's father to hire

a detective because she suspects he is cheating on her. When Yogesh's father learns

the astrologer is also a detective, he hires him. Devu then brings Yogesh to meet the girls. There is a meeting with each of the twelve girls. Meanwhile, the detective identifies

Devu's mistress as a woman named Anila.



1 When Yogesh has met most of the girls, one of them, Sanjana, asks to talk to him privately



1 After seeing the last girl, Yogesh's mother tells him to choose with his heart instead of
