Be it enacted by fke Senate and House of Representatives of thePhilippines in Congress assembled:

In lieu of the death p e d t y , the foIlowbg shallbe imposed(a) the penalty of reclusioa perpetua, when the lawviolated makes we of the nomenclature of the penalties of theRevised Penal Code; or(b) the penalty of We imprisonment, when the lawof the nomenclature of the penaltiesiolated does mt makeof the Revised Penal Code,SEC. 3. Persons convicted of offenses punished withreclusion perpetua, or whose sentences wi l l be reduced torecI&n perpetua, by reason of th is Act, shsll not be eligiblefor parole under Act No. 4103, otherwise known &e theIndeterminate Sentence Law, as amended.SEC. 4. The Board of Pardons and Parole shall cause

SEC.6. This Act shall take effect immediately after itspublication in $wo national newepapers of general circulation.
