YEAR
IN REVIEW 2017
LITIGATION TRANSACTIONAL ESTATE/PROBATE
STEPHEN WALTERSReminger Co., LPA Managing Partner
As we look back on 2017, we reflect upon what was once again a year of many things for which we are grateful.
A large number of our attorneys received personal honors and recognitions for their individual professional achievements. Within the last year, 63 of our attorneys were honored by Super Lawyers Magazine throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana as either Rising Stars or Super Lawyers. Several of these attorneys were also named to special lists for the publication as well.
Best Lawyers in America® recognized 24 Reminger attorneys this year, and also named two our of attorneys “Lawyer of the Year” in their primary practice group within their designated metropolitan area.
A number of Reminger’s practice groups were ranked at the metropolitan level by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers, while Transportation Law and Insurance Law were once again ranked nationally.
We had the distinct honor of being named as one of the “Top Workplaces in Northeast Ohio” for the seventh consecutive year by Workplace Dynamics and The Cleveland Plain Dealer, a recognition that we value as it is based upon the feedback of our very own employees.
We expanded our footprint in Indiana by opening a new office in Evansville, bringing our firm’s total count of offices to fourteen. We added nearly two dozen new attorneys.
Our Reminger Foundation granted funds to more than 60 charitable organizations. We were grateful to be able to bring top of mind awareness to the opioid epidemic that has struck our country through targeted donations to those fighting on the front lines.
But mostly as we reflect upon this past year, we express gratitude for our clients who have used us to help ‘navigate’ their way through their legal challenges. For your continued trust and business, we thank you.

more than
in charitable donations$85,000
Reminger FoundationThe Reminger Foundation awarded a total of $20,000 in charitable contributions to Northeast Ohio nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing treatment and recovery services for drug abuse and addiction. Three organizations were selected for grants, including:
• The Ed Keating Center• The Lantern Center for Recovery• K.I.S.S. Foundation (The Lia House)
The Reminger Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization funded by the attorneys and staff of Reminger Co., LPA, and friends of the law firm. The Board of Directors of The Reminger Foundation and Reminger’s Managing Partner Stephen E. Walters discussed how to best use Foundation funds to help address and combat this burgeoning epidemic that has gripped the nation. Ohio has the highest rate of opioid overdoses in the country, with the Ohio Department of Health reporting more than 3,000 deaths in 2015 alone. That number is projected to increase, spurred by a surge in the use of heroin and fentanyl.
“We are in the midst of an unprecedented health crisis that doesn’t distinguish based on socioeconomic status, race, or gender. We have seen the ravaging effects of addiction in the news, and we have felt it close to home, right here in our community,” remarked Walters. “There are so many deserving organizations in Northeast Ohio alone that treat those suffering from the debilitating disease of addiction, it was very difficult to choose just a few.”
Walters added that this particular cause was one that felt personal, as he and others at the firm know families who have been impacted by the devastating effects of opioid addiction. “There is so much work to be done to address prevention, treatment, and recovery. We hope that through the use of Foundation funds we are able to not only increase awareness of the disease of addiction, but also to help save lives right here in our own backyard.”
