Quran and only the Quran
The only source from which they quenched their thirst.
The only mold in which they formed their lives.
The only guidance for them, not because there was no civilization or
culture or science or books or schools.
Indeed, there was Roman culture
its civilization, its books and its laws, which even today are considered to
be the foundation of European culture.
There was the heritage of Greek culture
its logic, its philosophy and its arts, which are still a source of inspiration for
Western thought.
There was the Persian civilization
its art, its poetry and its legends, and its religion and
system of government.
There were many other civilizations, near or far, such as
the Indian and Chinese cultures
and so on.
ButLook at this example
When Prophet (S) saw few pages of
Torah in the hands of Umar r.a.
The target?...
To prepare a generation that is Pure in heart Pure in mind
Pure in understanding
Unique Method of Learning:
Was it to acquire some information?
Was it to get a new taste or enjoyment?
Was it to get knowledge for the sake of knowledge?
Was it to solve some scientific or legal problems?
Rather, They will approach the Quran as
“Today’s Bulletin”
A living reality
Prescription from their creator for their life
Learning and practicing together
They will not make this Quran a burden on themselves,
They will learn and understand 10 verses from the Quran,
practice it then will move on to the next 10 verses.
So…. The action became easy
Weight of responsibility became light
Quran became part of their personalities
And they became a living example of Faith.
Quran did not come down all at once,
that gives us the understanding of seeking continues guidance and direction from our Creator.
Another important point that we find in the life of the Sahaba is that
Whenever anyone of them embraced Islam… He started a completely new life.
He would immediately cut himself off from Jahiliyah.
He would mould his life and actions according to the commands of the Quran.
Example: Abu Zar (RA) said to Bilal (RA) o the son of a black mother.
We are surrounded by the Jahiliyah today.
We must derive our concepts of life, principles of economics and social behavior from the Quran and the Quran only.
Because Quran is the
MASTER KEY
We can not compromise on this,
Allah says in Surah Al Kafiroon
Our aim in this Course
To change ourselves so we can change the
society.
Today
We have the same Quran, the same guidance in our hands,
We have the same Sunnah and the Hadith of the Prophet
We have hundreds of “compiled” notes of Tafseer and other subjects that they DID NOT have….
So, what is the reason that
We are humiliated everywhere
Why we have the poorest people in the world
Why we don’t have peace in our life/ countries
Why the life has become tight and painful
Because we are away from Allah, from our Prophet, from the Quran.
This Divine revelation has revolutionized empires ….
so why can’t we use it to revolutionize our own individual lives?????
The time has come to ponder on the truth of this world and rescue ourselves from the realms of darkness by holding onto this Divine light….
THE QURAN
Story ofLeopold Weiss
who availed this blessed opportunity
Born in a Jews family, studied philosophy and art, became a journalist, States:
Despite of having high education and all the Luxuries of life, I did not know the purpose of my life, and I did not know what is the meaning of a
true happiness and where can I find it.I studied Christianity but I was disappointed
about their concept of God. During my journey to the Middle East I studied the Quran and I
was amazed.
Once, I was traveling in a subway train with my wife,
we saw this couple in the train full of diamonds and beauty but they had no happiness in their
faces, they seems stressful, I looked everywhere in the train, every one was having a fake smiling but I could see the pain in their faces, I shared
this with my wife she said: Looks like they are living in the Hell.
When we came home, there was a copy of the Quran on the table,
I opened it and I found Surah At Takathur, I
read it and I was stunned and my hands were shaking,
I called my wife and said to her, isn’t it the answer to the situation that we have seen at
night in the train.
We found the answer to our question as well:
Where is the true happiness?
In the Quran.
I realized that this can not be the writing of a human being,
then I came to a Masjid in Berlin and
accepted Islam.
He wrote several books on Islam, a very precious book
“Road to Macca”
and translated the Quran with a brief commentary on it.
Yvonne Ridley
British-born, award-winning journalist, Taliban Captive,
promised to read Quran converted to Islam 4 years
ago after reading the Quran.
Dr Ghariniyah
French born, member of French parliament, spend years and years in the seas,
got chance to read Quran, read the verses of Surah Noor, talking about the waves in the
ocean, I was amazed and I thought the author of this book must have spend days and nights in the
ocean but then I was told he lived in the desert and he never traveled in the ocean. My heart was delighted and I believed and understood that this is from the deity who has created everything and I accepted Islam.
A New World and a New Life is waiting for us.
As we draw ourselves closer to the Quran,
We approach to a whole new world that makes us grow a strong connection with our Creator.
We acquire a treasure of knowledge and explore realms of wisdom, and our priority becomes to attain the Pleasure of Allah swt only.
•It is an ultimate guidance, (Al Baqarah 2:38)
•It is a protection from evil and temptation.
•It is a light (Noor) in the darkness, so we can find our way to success and salvation. (Al Maidah, 5:15)
•It is the only healing (Shifa) for our inner sickness, and the illness of the society. (yunus, 10: 57)
It is a constant reminder ( Dhikr) (Aaraaf, 7:2 0) of
Our true natureOur purpose of life
Our destiny Our responsibilities as a Muslim
Our rewards
It is the only way to seek a close connection with our creator.
And finally what is waiting for us at the end of time, the pleasure of Allah and
His Jannah.
Hadith from TirmiziReported by Ali (RA)
I heard from the messenger (S)
Soon there will be test and trials.
I said to the messenger (SAW) what is the way out? The book of Allah
There are stories of the past
And prediction for the future
It has a solution for all your problems
It is a reality, not a joke
Whoever seeks the guidance other then the Quran, will be misguided
It is a Rope of Allah and a clear lightAnd a wise reminder
It is the right pathWhoever talks according to the Quran, will say
the truthWhoever judges according to the Quran will make
the right decisionWhoever practices the Quran, will get rewardsWhoever invites towards the Quran, he himself
will get the right path.O Aawer, take it serious and practice.
Al- Ghazali, in his Ihya' Tells about a person who said:
I read the Quran but did not find sweetness in it.
Then I read it as if I was hearing it from the Prophet, blessings and peace b e on him, while he was reciting it to his Companions.
Then, I moved a stage further and read the Quran as if I was hearing it from Jibra'il while he delivered it to the Prophet, blessings and peace be on him.
Then God brought me to a further stage I began to read it as if I was hearing it from the Speaker.
4. Allah addresses me directly, when I am reading the Quran
5. Every word of the Quran is for me
6. I am talking to Allah, when I am reading the Quran, (example of Surah Fatiha)
7. Allah will bless me and give me the reward for reading and practicing the Quran
