High powered Fiber Lasers are made of active optical fiber and semiconductor laser diodes,
a combination of two of the most innovative and advanced laser technologies.
These lasers use diodes as a light source for pumping the active fiber.
The laser beam is generated in the optical fiber and is transmitted by flexible armored cable. Special active fibers
are doped with rare-earth ions, allowing for an extremely powerful generation of a very small core, which makes
it possible to produce multiple kilowatt powered lasers with excellent beam quality.
„IPG "uses a lot of proprietary technology to create arguably “the best quality Fiber laser beam” available in
the market today.
Inflated radiation is generated by a large number of laser diodes then input to the optical fiber. There with the
help of input "Bragg mirrors", the wavelength of the generated laser beam is limited to about .042”. This
wavelength is about one tenth of the wavelength of a CO2 laser, which are being quickly phased out by fiber.
The average lifespan of the diodes are over 100,000 hours. The laser beam generated by these diodes is
very high in quality, with a wavelength of .042” and divergence about 8 [mm*mrad] and it can be transmitted
with unchanged quality up to a distance of 164’. The active core of the fiber has a thickness of only a few
micrometers.
Transition of the laser beam between the resonator and the cutting head is carried over fiber. This means
that there is no need for mirrors, thus avoiding the regular replacement, cleaning and adjustment of the costly
mirrors.
In comparison with the CO2 laser, the fiber laser has ten times less wavelength, which makes it possible to cut
materials that were a problem for CO2.
When using a laser beam with this kind of wavelength, it cuts and penetrates faster with less heat
dissipation which allows you to cut non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper or brass.
The ability to focus the laser beam is improved, there is a higher rate of cutting, heat dissipation in the material is
lower and the cut surface is more smooth.

The NUKON cutting head achieves best results in 2D cutting. It is a cutting
head especially developed for fiber lasers. It provides cutting edges with
defined quality.
For operators of cutting machines, productivity is an important factor for
success. The NUKON cutting head fulfills this requirement completely since
it can cut metal sheets of different thickness without manual intervention.
This is made possible by the special optics of the NUKON cutting head
which allows automatic control of focus position and focus diameter (from
65 µm up to 145 µm) by the CNC control unit. In combination with quick
focus movements on the work piece, this enables efficient flat-bed cutting
and a maximum of productivity. The cutting head is provided with 2
protective glasses, one in front of the cutting lense and one in front of the
collimator lense.
Thanks to this structure, the protective glass is brought to a higher position
(163 mm) so that the lifespan is significantly extended (up to 3 times).
Furthermore, the NUKON cutting head ensures a high quality cut. The optics
have been designed so that the laser induced focus shift is minimized and
the reproduction quality is diffraction-limited
The nozzle can be easily adjusted manually in X and Y direction using
lockable precision screws
Larger internal gas flow channels ensure a more stable vertical gas flow and
thus a higher cutting speed and cutting quality.

Responsibility of customer. Installation and training are provided by Nukon.
It is the end user's responsibility to decide whether a foundation is necessary. The foundation must be constructed according to the foundation plan which will be sent to you prior to delivery
of the machine.
Anchor bolts are required for installation on the base plate. Foundation and accessories are under the end user's
responsibility.
The seller provides the customer with all pertaining conditions. (installation regulation)
The required cables between main breaker and laser power transformer must be provided by the purchaser. The power supply is the customer's responsibility (connection to the main switch of the machine)

We recommend a 40 kW stable connection to prevent fluctuations and peaks in the network.
Ground resistance: less than 5 Ohms, insulated single-core ground wire with a cross section of at least 20 mm2
* Electrical interference of the power supply is not covered by the warranty.
The laser system is equipped with an internal piping system for the suction unit which leads to the outside of the machine via an externally installed suction pipe with a diameter of 7.87".
The latter must be connected to a dust separator system. Such a dust separator system is required necessarily
and can either be purchased as a special accessory together with the machine or acquired separately. When
ordering the dust separator system from a different supplier, it must comply with the specifications in the pre-
installation document package.
Purchase and installation of any required laser gas cylinders, inert gas cylinders, hoses, regulators, screw drivers
und lines between the laser gas cylinders as well as the inert gas supply to the laser machine.
Oxygen, nitrogen und compressed-air (incl. connections) are under the end user's responsibility.
The user may provide personnel for unloading the machine from the truck, unpacking of machine and
accessories, placing the machine on the location provided for this purpose, and general leveling of the machine.
Leveling documents are delivered together with the machine.
The lifespan of such parts depends on the individual application. (Example: cutting nozzles, protective glass, height sensor etc...)
