Elizabeth Cady StantonElizabeth Cady Stanton called the first womens rights convention in 1848. She was an American social activist and abolitionist. Stanton had 10 other siblings and was born in Johnstown, New York. Her older brother, Eleazar died at just 20 years old. Elizabeths 2 daughters names were Margaret and Harriot. Elizabeth Stantons father, Daniel Cady, was an attorney and served in the US Congress from 1814-1817. After the Civil War Elizabeths female suffrage commitment caused a commotion. Her, along with Susan B Anthony declined to support the 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution.

Amelia Jenks BloomerAmelia Jenks Bloomer was born on May 27, 1818 and died on December 30, 1894. Amelia only received a few years of education at the local school. After being a school teacher at 17 years old, Bloomer moved in with her (married) sister Elvira. After living with Elvira in Waterloo for a year, Amelia moved again. When Amelia was 22, she married Dexter Bloomer, who was an attorney. He soon encouraged her to write for his newspaper, the Seneca Falls County Courier. Amelia and her family ended up moving to Iowa in 1852. After dying in Cortland County, New York, Bloomer was buried with many others including Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Harriet Ross Tubman.

Susan B. AnthonySusan B. Anthony was born on February 15, (That is my sisters birthday!)1820. She led a group of women to the polls in 1872 to test the right of women to vote. Instead, she was arrested, charged, and sentenced to a fine. Susan was a famous civil rights leader who roused people about womens suffrage in the United States. She co-founded the first Womens Temperance movement with Elizabeth Cady Stanton as president. Susan B. Anthonys parents were Daniel Anthony(father) and Lucy Read(mother). Susan B. Anthony died on March 13, 1906

Harriet TubmanHarriet Tubman was born in 1820 and died on March 10, 1913. She was one of the most successful conductors of the underground railroad. She lived in Auburn for many years(and even died there). Harriet was an African-American abolitionist, humanitarian, and Union spy during the US Civil War. Tubman escaped from her owner and spent the rest of her life helping other slaves escape. She made about 19 missions to save about 300 slaves from their owners. Tubman then rescued her family in Maryland from their owners. Harriet Tubman eventually died of Pneumonia at the age of 93.
