Infrared camera lens

Maintenance

The Workswell WIRIS MINI camera is focused to infinity. The focus of the

lens is neither possible nor necessary.

Cleaning the WIRIS MINI head and cables

Liquids: Use one of these liquids:

- Warm water

- A weak detergent solution

Equipment: A soft cloth

Procedure: 1) Soak the cloth in the liquid.

2) Twist the cloth to remove excess liquid.

3) Clean the part with the cloth.

Cleaning the infrared lens

Liquids: Use one of these liquids:

- A commercial lens cleaning liquid with more than 30%

isopropyl alcohol

- 96% ethyl alcohol (C2H5OH)

- DEE (= „ether“ = diethylether, C4H10O)

- 50% acetone (= dimethylketone, (CH3)2CO)) + 50%

ethyl alcohol (by volume). This liquid prevents drying

marks on the lens.

Equipment: Cotton wool

Procedure: 1) Soak the cotton wool in the liquid.

2) Twist the cotton wool to remove excess liquid.

3) Clean the lens one time only and discard the cotton

wool.




How to start?

Warning:

Make sure that you read all applicable MSDS (Material Safety Data

Sheets) and warning labels on containers before you use a liquid: the

liquids can be dangerous.

Caution:

- Be careful when you clean the infrared lens. The lens has a delicate anti-

reflective coating.

- Do not clean the infrared lens too vigorously. This can damage

antireflective coating. Re-applying antireflective coating is not possible

and is required to change the lens.

Before every use, please check the correct polarity and voltage before

plugging any cables into the camera.

1) Connect the system to a wireless

video link or a monitor using

micro HDMI cable (included).

If you are using an analog video

transmitter, connect the cable

via analog connector.

Screen layout

Please, use genuine accessories from Workswell company only to avoid

the risk of damage of the device.

As soon as the system starts, you will see the following screen.

2) Connect the system to a standard

RC receiver using at least 2 servo

cables (included) or S.Bus. Use

input 1 and 2 in order to control

main functions. Alternatively, you

can connect keyboard via USB

port.

▪ Main camera window shows live stream from selected camera. You

can switch between infrared and visible spectrum camera during

the flight.

▪ Camera preview window shows live stream from camera that is not

shown in Main camera window.

▪ Status bar brings you most important information about the system.

▪ Temperatures window informs you about temperatures in the

measured scene.

System control

Workswell WIRIS MINI is designed to be controlled remotely using

standard RC system. For this case, WIRIS MINI system is equipped with

4 digital IO Ports and one S.Bus port. First two Digital IO Ports serve as the

Up/Down and Enter/Escape buttons. The other ones can be used as

a shortcut to important functions (mode switching, recording video,

image capturing, zoom, etc.).

It is also possible to control the system on the ground using standard

USB2.0 keyboard.

All the settings can be done via the system menu. The menu can be

opened by clicking the Enter key on a keyboard.

It is recommended to use a joystick for navigation in the menu. If

connected as recommended, the joystick has the following behaviour.

* If the S.Bus expansion is used, this port can be used for the S.Bus

interface also.

In most cases, the non-uniformity (NU) is a time-dependent noise caused

by the lack of sensor equalization. It leads to a structured noise in the

image and it must be corrected. For this device, NUC is performed by

attaching NUC cap to the camera lens.

To switch the camera off, simply unplug the power supply.
