Quick Reference Sheet Hosted SIMS and FMS Logging In for the First Time In order to log into Hosted SIMS or FMS for the first time, your SIMS ID Site Administrator will need to provide you with your new username and password. SIMS ID is the web based launcher system that is used to access any of your school’s hosted applications (e.g. Hosted SIMS). Version 7.174 - 1.0 Release Date: 17/05/2017 Accessing SIMS ID for the First Time Accessing SIMS ID for the First Time 1. Navigate to https://id.sims.co.uk. The Sign in to SIMS ID page is displayed. 2. Enter the Username and Password that your Site Administrator has provided to you and click the Sign in button. 3. On the first login to SIMS ID, you are asked to add five security answers. This allows you to reset your password in the event that it is forgotten. Select from the Select Security Question drop-down lists and enter your answers in the adjacent fields. 4. Enter your Current Password and click Save to display the SIMS ID Launcher page. 1. Click the SIMS .net tile to launch Hosted SIMS. 2. If you have accessed SIMS ID using Internet Explorer version 11 or later, Hosted SIMS should launch without the need to re-enter your username and password. If you have accessed SIMS ID using any other browser, you may be prompted for your username and password. Enter your email (in the format <username>@hosted.sims.co.uk) and password. Accessing Hosted SIMS Accessing Hosted SIMS Accessing Hosted FMS Accessing Hosted FMS SIMS Financial Management System provides a comprehensive overview of your school’s finances and enables finance staff to complete day-to-day financial tasks. 1. If your site has only one Hosted FMS database available, click the SIMS FMS tile. If your site has more than one Hosted FMS database available, click the SIMS FDS (Finance Database Selector) tile, then select the database you want to access from the drop-down list. 2. Hosted FMS login details are not linked to your SIMS ID logins in the same way as they are with Hosted SIMS. Enter the FMS username and password that was provided to you by your Site Administrator. User Menu Options User Menu Options Once signed in, there are several options available from the Hello <Name> drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner of the Launcher page. Change Password and Set Security Questions - you may select these options at any time. You are required to enter your existing password. User Guide - the latest User Guide provides useful information on SIMS ID for both users and Administrators on moving files to and from your hosted drives, connecting to hosted applications on non-Windows devices, and an FAQ section. Announcements - enhancements to functionality within SIMS ID are published here, e.g. additions to the reporting suite. Where to Manage Files in SIMS ID Where to Manage Files in SIMS ID As part of your Hosted SIMS subscription, you are provided with cloud-based file systems, where you can store data or move files between your local and hosted drives, if required. Click the Explorer tile on the Launcher page to display the drives. Hosted S: drive - each site is set up with an S: drive which is accessible to all users from your site who have access to Hosted SIMS or FMS. Information you want to make available to other Hosted SIMS or FMS users at your site should be retained here. Hosted U: drive - each user at your site is provided with a U: drive, which is a personal filesystem space accessible by the user only. Local drives - the Explorer tile also maps to any drive available locally on the device on which you have connected to Hosted SIMS.
