Question 4
How did you use media technologies in
construction and research planning and
evaluation stage?
Throughout this whole, process there were multiple technologies used.
The Hardware
A school Desktop Computer, DELL Laptop and MacBook were all used in this process. Initially, all the work was started at school on the desktop computer, then transferred on to my home laptop via email and USB. When it came to editing the trailer, again all three were used.
Four different types of cameras were used. To film for the trailer, a handheld video camera was used. To take location pictures, the iPhone was used along with the digital camera. The SLR camera was used to take pictures for the magazine and poster.
A USB was used to transfer work between the different computers. The USB cable was used to upload footage and images.
I used my scanner to scan the typeface onto the computer to allow editing to take place.
The tripod was used on multiple occasions when filming for the trailer took place.
The Software
Photoshop was the main tool used for editing the poster and magazine. I edited my typeface on here.
Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit the footage for the trailer.
Adobe Bridge was used to make sure different types of files opened on Adobe Premiere.
The paint tool on Microsoft was used to cut images. This made it easier to edit images on Photoshop as there wasn’t an excess of things to cut.
Windows Live Movie Maker was used to make videos. These videos show my progression of ideas in certain areas of the production.
Power Point Presentation was used to make presentations. This was a simple way to get across multiple ideas at once.
Microsoft word was used to make plans and to analyse the magazine covers and posters.
The Websites
YouTube was used to upload the trailer and other clips. This allows a large audience to view the trailer
and give feedback. It is also easily accessible.
Vimeo was used to upload the trailer.
Blogger was used to upload all of the work. The layout of Blogger allowed me to strategically show the thought processes of production.
Prezi was used for the same reason PPT was. It was just a more interesting way to get my ideas across.
