Various Magazine Distributors/ Companies

Seymour distribution groups work in the UK to distribute various magazines. They work with publishing agencies such as National geographic kids and the financial times on publishing magazines but don’t seem to be a company who represent many music magazines so they wouldn't’t be the company I’d choose to distribute my magazine.

Bauer media group and frontline are a joint force in distribution. Bauer media is the main company who claims to reach over 22 million UK adults every week. They distribute magazines such as MOJO, Q, NME, Grazia and Kerrang and use companies such as Frontline to distribute or sell these magazines further to reach even more people each day. This will be the company I choose to distribute my magazine as they know about other music magazine and where to locate and sell them so that they can be accessed by the majority of the target market.

Why I’ve chosen my DistributorI have chosen Bauer media to distribute my magazine as they represent music magazines such as Mojo and Q and these are successful magazines which is partly down to the distribution and selling, so I want to have the same company to achieve the same level of interest from customers. Also if big budget magazines such as Mojo and Q trust and rely on Bauer media then it must be a reliable company for the distribution of my magazine.

Target Market with BauerThese charts show the statistics of the amount of readers Q and Mojo get. They show Q to have the highest reader percentage in the age range of 15-24 which is exactly in the age range I wanted so I know with Bauer I will be likely to be able to target my chosen social group and target audience.

It also shows that usually the reader percentage is higher in the male gender which is good for my magazine as I wanted to aim my magazine to men and women. Also the Mojo magazine also has 24% of readers in the ages 15-24 and although this isn’t the highest age percentage but this is still a high percentage so I trust Bauer to distribute to my target market.
