institutions may distribute your media and why?

The types of media institutions that would distribute my magazine would be Bauer media and IPC, because both of these distribute

many magazines that are similar to my genre. Firstly Bauer media is a UK-based multi-platform media group that consists of many

companies that is collected around two main divisions, one of them being magazines, one of these being Kerrang. Kerrang is one of the

most influential youth culture brands that is around today. The magazine is full of passion, entertainment and engineers with the

best of today’s rock music. Kerrang is extremely similar to my magazine in the way that it portrays the youth culture and the rock

industry. It also shares a similar social group of readers. Bauer media is a successful media institute which reaches over 22 million UK

consumers every week. Kerrang’s audience is f the same age rage as mine; this would be a good institute to go with as it potentially could bring a larger audience forward for my product. Similarly Kerrang has

a similar price rang to mine; this will also attract a large audience because Kerang is extremely popular therefore their price range

seems reasonable to their audience so my audience would feel the same. I feel that my magazine will fit it and sell well if I was to go with Bauer institution because they already have a rock magazine

but they don’t have an indie/rock magazine, although my magazine is similar to Kerrang in the way that its use of colour and boldness

creates the rock look. I also have the indie side to my magazine, I have a genre that would appeal to wider audience therefore setting it

apart from Kerrang and hopefully gaining a bigger audience.

There is also the media institute IPC that distributes magazines and is a digital publisher in the United Kingdom, with a large portfolio selling over 350 copies each year. IPC

does the advertising for NME music magazine which also has similarities to my own music magazine. It is a rock magazine

similarly to my own magazine and it also features many indie/rock artists throughout their magazine. It also has the

same social group as my magazine. IPC would be ideal to distribute my magazine because it extremely successful and it has helped in gaining NME magazine a large audience. As

NME is a rock magazine it will have a clear view on how to get my magazine attention and the right target audience. It will

have a solid idea on how to distribute my magazine in my most affective, appealing way. The price range for my

magazine and NME’s magazine is slightly different because my magazine is cheaper. Therefore my magazine I think

would sell more because it appeals to the audience, also my magazine’s genre is indie/rock so there would be more

content that would appeal to a wider audience.
