One of the main conventions of the indie rock genre and their music videos is to mainly focus it in nature and/or abandoned places. I think its also used for more of a metaphorical stance and everything is put in its place for a specific reason. Also I think everything has more of a symbolic meaning behind it. This gives off a very opposite vibe to pop videos because they can be viewed as more superficial.

MISE EN SCENEThe main think I focused on in regard to mise en scene was the make up and the overall colour of the video. My make up was very important. Originally it was to determine between both characters and bring out their differences but still show that they were the same person. As my video progressed, I used the make up to show how out there and drastic it looked so it would give the audience a stronger feel of how this character is signifying something else. The whole tone throughout the video is more blue, I wanted this because it emulates the creepy and cold feel that I wanted the overall video to have.

CAMERA MOVEMENT AND ANGLESIn my video I didnt want to include any camera movements because I wanted the video to come across very still and almost motionless and I feel as if I took some inspiration from my genre for this. However, I wanted to experiment with what different angles I could use and what techniques would make the shots successful. I think it was successful in parts of the video and through this I created match on action which gave some movement to the shots.

NARRATIVE AND EFFECTSAs stated previously indie-rock genre mainly focuses on narrative more than performance shots and this does really in force the idea of this genre being less superficial.

I mainly used the black and white effect throughout my video to resemble the past, I have used this in many of my other projects as well. I think it works and makes it clearer. I also changed the opacity of shots so that they could overlap one another and give a more intertwined feel to the music video. One other effect I played around with was the ghosting effect which I liked because it helped give a deeper understanding of the narrative.
