FRANCES MCBURNIE President, PEIKMFA
It is a pleasure to welcome the participants to another
wonderful Music Festival experience. I certainly wish that each of you
has "personal bests" and that you learn something, too. Each year there
are hundreds of wonderful performances, each is very special in its
own way.
I welcome our skilled adjudicators, and thank them for their careful
listening, and their helpful advice. I hope they have a little spare time to
appreciate this beautiful Island.
The Prince Edward Island Kiwanis Music Festival depends on scores of
people for its success. I offer humble thanks to the teachers for the
conscientious preparation, the parents for support in many ways, the
co-ordinators and committees from each local festival, the numerous
volunteers who work at each session, and the generous donors for
their support.
May we all have a glorious time!
Frances McBurnie, President

Our sincere thanks to the music teachers who have prepared children for the
2016 Queens County Annual Music Festival.
We acknowledge and thank all the volunteers who
help in very important ways. Without our dedicated
volunteers the festival would not happen.

THE KIWANIS CLUB OF CHARLOTTETOWN
"The Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown is a very generous sponsor to our
festival association. Each festival receives a portion of the funds
directly; as well, they provide the majority of the money required to
stage the provincial competition each year. All festivals owe them
gratitude for their annual support, and we thank them."
DONATING AEROPLAN POINTS FOR
NATIONAL FESTIVAL COMPETITORS
"We appreciate the many ways our supporters help to make our
festival a success. Another way we would like you to consider could be
a donation of Aeroplan points or Airmiles, which you may not have use
for. The National festival body also has an Airmiles program, and
purchases could be made using that number, available from our
festival coordinator.
Four years ago, a festival friend donated enough Aeroplan points to
send our three national competitors to Montreal, at no cost to us! As
you can see, donating Air Miles or Aeroplan points could be very
helpful; with this year's national competition taking place in
Edmonton,Alta. such donations could make a big difference

Thank you to the congregation and staff at Park Royal
United Church for the use of Park Royal for our
festival voice and string venue. We appreciate your
community support for the children who participate in
Queens County Music Festival.
Thank you to Susan Stensch and the faculty of the
Music Department at the University of Prince Edward
Island for the continued support of Queens County
Music Festival. We appreciate being able to use Dr.
Steel Recital Hall for performances, especially for the
piano sessions.
Thank you to the Principal, staff and students at
Queen Charlotte Intermediate School for supporting
the Queens County Music Festival. We are so pleased
to have the children in the band program participating
in the festival. Your generosity and support for the
students makes it possible for them to participate.
Thank you to all volunteers and to all festival
committee members. Without this team of community
spirited individuals the festival would not happen.
