  • SOCORRO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT CAREER & JOB EXPOOn January 30th Workforce Solutions Borderplex hosted a special Career & Job Expo for high school students in the Socorro Independent School District. The event was free and open strictly to SISD Sophomores, Juniors, & Seniors. SISD students spent the afternoon learning about skill requirements and qualifications for future jobs and careers. As state leaders turn their focus towards developing a workforce capable of meeting their state’s job needs over the next few decades, the connection from high school education to workforce development is quickly taking center stage. Sue Ellspermann, with Workforce Development in Indiana indicated that organizations, such as hers and WSB, are not asking high schoolers to decide their entire life’s course but help them explore their options earlier on.

  • RURAL ELECTED OFFICIALS DINNER IN

MARFA, TXOn February 26th Workforce Solutions Borderplex hosted a special dinner event at the St. George Hotel in Marfa, TX with the elected officials and partners of the rural communities. The goal of the event was to convene this diverse group to share ideas, learn more about community employment and business service needs, as well as upcoming opportunities to partner on new endeavors.

for their next step in life.

    Workforce Solutions partnered with 25

    Borderplex area employers to provide

occupations and industries to explore. The

JobCon Series was developed to captivate
