Quarterly Preventative Maintenance Guide
Maintenance to be Performed by an Experienced Technician Every 3 Months on all Steampunk Machines
§ Deep Clean Machine o Wipe Down the Outside of Machine o Clean Grooves in between Glass
and Metal Flanges
§ Rebuild Pistons o Replace all Relevant O-Rings using
Piston O-Ring Kit
§ Disassemble Crucible Slider Blocks o Remove 2x HW-043 o Remove 2x HW-130 o Clean all components
§ Disassemble Crucible Pour Spouts
o Remove 4x HW-136 with Small Flathead Screwdriver
o Remove Spout Plug o Remove Spout Internal o Clean all Components
§ Check Torque on Crucible Glass
o Check Torque on Top Glass before Reattaching Slider Block.
o Check for 3.75-4.5 Inch/Lbs or 0.4-0.5 Newton Meters.
o Check Torque on Bottom Glass before Reattaching Pour Spout
o Use Small Flathead to Compare Torque on Top Glass
§ Reassemble Crucible Slider Blocks
o Use Medium Hold Food-Safe Loctite on HW-043 and HW-130.
o Firmly Fasten to Top Flange
§ Reassemble Crucible Pour Spouts o Replace OR-017 Pour Spout to
Bottom Flange O-Ring o Apply Medium Hold Food-Safe
Loctite to 4x HW-136 o Firmly Fasten to Bottom Flange
§ Run 5 Minute Vacuum Test
o Test Crucibles for Vacuum Leaks
§ Check Water Quality o Check Water Filtration Quality,
Pressure, and Flow Rate According to Steampunk Specifications
§ Dial in Pressure Regulator Box
o During Fill Process Ensure that Boiler PSI is between 40-70 PSI (not when water is static)
o Ensure that Crucible PSI is Adequate for Proper Fill Temp.
§ Inspect Boiler
o Inspect Boiler for Signs of Scale Buildup or Leaking Fittings
§ Inspect Drain System
o Inspect Drain System for Proper Pitch and Clogging
