CRANK & CLIP/STRAPRetractable’s most versatile blind. Our go to blind for the more challenging install situations because of the simple yet functional design.
This blind is most commonly operated by a Manual crank system with detachable handle however it can also be motorised using a Somfy handheld or wall mounted remote where it is difficult to use the manual system.
Fixing points can be along the ground using stainless steel floor plates and straps or easy to use swivel clips on either side of the blind. This blind can also double as a “Roof to Fence” blind.
For example the blind could be fixed to your roofline and extend across to a boundary fence or wall providing shade and protection for plants, washing lines or a children’s play area.

HEAVY DUTY CHANNELRetractable’s most popular product in the outdoor blind range, it is a stylish and strong system and is most commonly used in patios and alfresco areas of your home or business.
This blind can be operated by either a Manual crank system with detachable handle or motorised using a Somfy handheld or wall mounted remote.
Guided by a 75mm x 3mm Gauge Aluminium Channel and secured using our very own reinforced aluminium bottom rail and pin locking system. The channels are a custom Retractable design allowing you to have multiple settings and maximum tension at all times. Spanning up to a maximum of 5.8m the HD blind is still our most reliable design.
Recommended to compliment the HD Channel blind is our extensive range of HVG Mesh Extra, Ultra and Ferrari Soltis fabrics.

WIRE GUIDEA modern streamlined design used mostly as an external window shade but also an excellent option for balconies and where a channel is not desirable.
The Wire guided blind is most commonly operated with the Somfy remote system however it can still be used manually with a crank handle.
Guided by Stainless steel wires on either side of the bottom rail the blind can be set any desired level with no need to secure. However we do supply stainless steel clips if required.
Wire Guide blinds are great to keep the sun off the glass and dramatically reduce heat from your windows and house. They can be connected to sun sensors - so while you are at work they can be working at home to keep the heat out and reduce energy costs!

SLIDE & ZIP TRACKIf you are looking for an easy to use solution to enclose a patio or Al Fresco area our extensive range of Spring Loaded Blinds may be what you are looking for.
Slidetrack and Ziptrack Blinds are operated on a spring system with unique bottom locking rail mechanisms. The edge of the fabric is lined with a Keder spline that runs into a 2 part track.
This blind works especially well at lengths under 4m and is very popular with people who want a quick operation and maximum protection from the rain and bugs. They can also be mounted on the outside of your posts or walls for a more invisible and stylish appearance.
These blinds also work particularly well with the Clear and Tinted PVC, as they do not cause too much stress on this type of material.

CASE STUDIES
At RETRACTABLE we have a wealth of experience in all types and sizes of projects involving outdoor blinds, patio roofs and retractable roof systems in Perth.
Some of our previous projects were challenging but successful, thanks to teamwork and precise attention to detail. Some of the more challenging projects included lifting a roof system up four-storeys using a crane, customising beams and frames to support the customer’s vision for a unique retractable roof system and creating complex 3D walkthrough concepts.

THE REVELEY - ELIZABETH QUAYElizabeth Quay is situated in the CBD next to the Swan River and features a large variety of new attractions such as boardwalks, public spaces, accommodation, and entertainment and dining options. The Reveley is Elizabeth Quay’s first permanent venue, and with a prime waterside location and three-storey high rooftop, it offers incredible views of the city and river to its guests.
With the rooftop bar and its alfresco dining options being one of the Reveley’s main attractions, the owner, Tim McLernon and his wife, wanted to ensure that the outdoor area can be comfortably enjoyed by their customers during any weather conditions and at any time of the day. They chose our Perth team to install retractable roof systems and outdoor blinds for their rooftop. Although the clients knew which solutions they needed, this wasn’t a simple project and the team at Retractable worked with the clients and their architects for a few months to create a suitable design and determine how many products they needed in the space, and in which blind design and colour choices.
A practical but stylish solution was agreed upon and we installed the Tera retractable roof system with front gutters and LED lighting above the rooftop area. The installation also included motorised slide-tracks with PVC clear materials. But the solution we are most proud of is the customised canopy that features a custom frame and fabric shells. This unique structure was specially designed for The Reveley by Retractable to fit and complement the unusual lines of the building.
This one-of-a-kind project took around two weeks to complete and The Reveley’s customers can now enjoy their innovative food and impressive cocktails and drinks on the rooftop in comfort, and in any weather conditions. We are proud to say that the owners are incredibly happy with the end results and how well the colours, lighting and the finishes enhance their rooftop bar area. We will be collaborating with them again on new projects later this year.

RESIDENTIAL PROJECT - COOGEEMr and Mrs Walsh contacted us when they were at the design stage of building their new family home. They wanted something unique that would let the natural heat and light to come through the bifold doors in winter to warm up there living area, which would also allow them to open there living area to the outdoor entertaining area no matter what the weather was permitting.
We customised and manufactured steel beams to be braced from the internal rafters to support the roof systems rafters back up onto of the existing roof. This means when the roof system is fully retracted back that the fabric sits back out off view allowing more open space and light.
We were lucky enough to get an invite to their housewarming party and it is fair to say, they have one of the best and most unique outdoor entertaining areas in Coogee. Having a BBQ in summer under the stars with close friends is priceless!

UNIVERSAL BAR - NORTHBRIDGEThe Universal Bar, Northbridge, had an open-air bar area that was being under utilised, particularly during the winter months. They also wanted to be able to hold more functions, all year round. Retractable met with the Bar Manager and decided the Tera Retractable Roof System was the perfect solution for the space. It is fully waterproof and guttered and the The Universal have been extremely impressed with the transformation of the space since having it installed.

RESIDENTIAL PROJECT - PERTHResidential back yard projects are our specialty! From retractable roof system to shade sails...there is really no job to big or small.
In this case we have closed off the outdoor entertaining area with some Ziptrack outdoor blinds. We recommended mesh fabric because it works well in summer and winter and look good for years! Black fabric was a great choice as it gives maximum privacy while maintaining the views out.
We also installed a shade sail over the pool, to keep the grandkids protected throughout summer. Shade sails have many ways that they can be applied, if its post, rafter brackets or attaching it to exciting structures, the fabric is then customised to suit and shape or size.

MASONMILL GARDENS - CARMELHere at Retractable, our team takes pride in providing innovative and state-of-the-art outdoor solutions to each of our clients, but in some cases we have to go the extra mile to ensure our product’s design and function meet the client’s requirements exactly. The installation of the retractable roof system at Masonmill Gardens and Restaurant’s venue area was one such project.
Masonmill Gardens and Restaurant is a restaurant, and wedding and function venue situated 25 minutes from the Perth CBD. It is an impressive ten acres, with beautifully landscaped gardens which are surrounded by the Jarrah forest of Carmel. The venue, with its stylishly designed architecture, regularly hosts weddings and other special occasions, but is also popular with tourist and families who want to enjoy lunch or dinner in a gorgeous setting. It was clear from the start that the product Retractable chose to install for these clients had to be designed and customised to accompany this stylish environment perfectly.
The clients at Masonmill Gardens and Restaurant found Retractable on Google and after viewing our products and information online they contacted the Retractable Perth agency to request an outdoor shading solution for their events area, which is mainly used for functions and events. The clients had a fairly good idea of what they wanted to install in the area as they had seen a similar product in Europe. After surveying the area and considering all their requirements our team recommended that they install the Halo roof system. This is an outstanding product which features a curved structure as a striking and elegant design element. The Halo was the ideal product as it provided both beautiful form and function. Not only did the design suit the surrounding buildings and elegance of the venue, it also provided much needed shade and protection from the elements to the guests.
The project took around four days to complete - three days to install the retractable roof system and an additional day to fit mesh blinds around the area. The process was entirely hiccup free and the clients where extremely satisfied with our quality of workmanship and the end result.
