Quality Control Steel Water Tanks

Quality Control Steel is committed to the development of innovative solutions and manufacturing state-of-the-art quality products.

Quality Control Steel offers flat roof water tank designs and 30 degree roof water tank designs.

Quality Control Steel and Sioux Steel have a combined knowledge exceeding 100 years supplying corrugated steel tanks in more than 35 countries. Our modular tanks in both roof configurations feature innovative potable and non- potable storage liners making them suitable for most water storage applications including the storage of potable water.

Quality Control Steel tanks draw on the very best proven technology, combining the most up to date research, engineering and manufacturing techniques with the highest quality materials available – giving you a water tank of unsurpassed quality. QCS Tank Onsite Preparation:

Other tanks may require a strong and

compacted base. In areas of soft soil,

stronger soils must be brought in to

solve this problem. QCS tanks in both

roof configurations overcome this

problem in two ways. The profiled steel

wall absorbs any earth movement and

will not distort under load. This assures

that the wall panels will not stress,

buckle or tear due to subsidence. In

addition, because QCS tanks feature a

flexible reinforced polyethylene water storage liner, stored water can follow the contour of the ground,

compensation for movement and stress is moved to the

main tank structure. Our standard tank in both roof

configurations require no special site preparation or

costly foundations. For capacities up to 95,000

gallons, the only preparation requirement is a level

six to eight inch layer of clean inert sand. Please note

that seismic and high wind rated tanks may require a

reinforced concrete ring beam.

QCS Tanks Simple and Efficient Delivery and Assembly QCS water storage tanks’ modular structure makes their delivery, assembly and installation considerably easier than construction of a concrete or precast plastic tank. Once packaged, our lightweight tanks in both roof configurations can reduce to just 1% of their assembled size, so they fit neatly into a truck trailer or even a helicopter. Standard tanks up to 95,000 gallons can be installed in less than one day – Quality engineering provides efficient methods. QCS supervisors and fully trained installers are familiar with local conditions and terrain, which helps assure speedy

installation or certification. QCS will supply certified supervisors to train and certify your local teams of installers. QCS Provides Personal Service for Your Installation With installers worldwide, QCS is able to install your tank and certify your crews almost anywhere in the world. All installers are fully trained and experienced with building QCS tanks.

Installations

QCS water storage tanks modular structure makes their delivery, assembly and installation quick and

simple. We install most standard tanks up to 95,000 gallons in less than one day.

Measure the pad.

Level your pad.

Connect the two panels together at the seams by inserting the bolts

into the pre-drilled wall seam holes. When inserting the bolts you will

start from the inside out - the head of the bolt goes on the interior

side of the tank wall.

Secure the wall bolts on the exterior side of the tank by hand

tightening the nuts. One or two threads of the nut onto the

thread of the bolt is adequate for completion of this step.

Install the first diameter of

the tank.

Page | 7

Impact the side walls and anchor brackets.

Start installing the upper tier diameter.

Install 4 panels of the roof panels.

Lay down the textile base and start installing the bag

liner to the clamping bracket attached to the walls of

the tank.

Quality Control Steel Standard Accessories.

Your QCS water tank comes complete with an extensive range of standard accessories.

Removable Leaf and Debris Catchment Filter

A polyethylene filter minimizes any buildup of organic water at the

bottom of your tank. The filter fits into the roof of the tank and lifts

out simply for easy cleaning.

Access Hatch

A lockable hinged access hatch opens easily to allow access to the

interior of your QCS water tank.

G115 Galvanized Steel

G115 protection of steel has been around since the late 1800’s. It

is similar to the principle of protecting steel ships and oil rigs

with solid blocks of pure magnesium have bolted to the hull

below the water line. QCS tanks have a 20 years warranty.

Polyethylene Outlets and Shut Off Valves

Polyethylene fittings significantly reduce the risk of corrosion

and assure a long serviceable life for your tank. QCS water

tank is supplied with high density polyethylene (HDPE) fittings,

including a two inch outlet and ball valve. Larger fittings are

available via special order.

Overflow Pipe

Standard QCS water tanks are supplied with a six inch overflow flange

to connect to a drainage pipe to channel excess water away from your

tank’s sand pad.

Rainwater Harvesting

The practice of rainwater harvesting is a very old

technique that is becoming increasingly common in

the United States and around the world. Scarcity of

water resources, the inherent quality of rainwater

and an interest in reducing consumption of treated

water has increased the importance of rainwater

harvesting globally. Rainwater is a sustainable

source of water when groundwater or other sources

are unacceptable or unavailable.

Benefits of Rainwater Collection:

Rainwater is absolutely free source of water.

The end use of harvested water is located close to the sources; you have total control over your

water supply.

Rainwater provides a water sources when ground- water or other water is unacceptable or

unavailable, or it can augment limited water supplies.

The zero hardness of rainwater helps prevent scale on appliances, extending their use.

The use of rainwater eliminates the need for a water softener and the salts added during the

softening process.

Rainwater is sodium- free, important for persons on low-sodium diets.

Rainwater is better for landscaping plants and gardens because it is not chlorinated.

Rainwater harvesting helps utilities reduce the summer demand peak and delay expansion of

existing water treatment plans.

Rainwater harvesting reduces consumers utility bills.

Rainwater Collection Methods

“Dry” System

“Wet” System

“Dry” System

This method is a standard

rainwater harvesting system.

Essentially, the collection

pipe “dries” after each rain

event since it empties directly

into the top of the tank. QCS

rainwater collection tanks are

engineered with innovative

features turning a traditional

rainwater collection tank into

an engineered quality

product.

“Wet” System

This is the most popular method of rainwater collection because of its neat appearance. Water is channeled via PVC water pipe below ground and up into the tank through the filter basket. It is important that the tank entry point is a minimum 18 inches lower than the roof gutter and that the PVC pipe is sealed and watertight. Please note, the farther the tank is from the house, the greater the height differential required.

How much rain can I collect? The amount of rainfall that you can collect is governed by the following formula:

1” of rain x 1 sq. ft. = 0.623 gallons 1” of rain from 1,000.00 sq. ft. will provide you with 623 gallons of water.

Municipal, Industrial and Fire Water storage

Municipal and Industrial Water Storage One of the QCS water tank’s greatest strengths is its versatility. With a proven track record in oil and gas water storage applications, it is quickly establishing the same reliable reputation in the municipal, residential and industrial marketplace. Available in a range of sizes up to 6 million gallons with a large selection of height to diameter ratios, QCS water tanks are adaptable to most situations. Mining operations, for example, are usually located in areas that are difficult to access. QCS water tanks are the ideal choice for remote mining and other industrial applications. Their modular design simplifies and expedites both transportation and installation.

Fire Water Storage Individuals, housing developments and businesses are increasingly using QCS water tanks for private fire water storage. Not only does immediate access to firefighting water provide peace of mind, it can also lower insurance.

Guaranteeing Customer Satisfaction.

Rigorous Testing for Peace of Mind QCS water tanks are engineered to current standards, the manufacturing benchmark for consistent quality and workmanship is an everyday practice at QCS. QCS tanks designs comply with the relevant clauses of the following standards:

We Value Customer Feedback Everyone at QCS Water takes great pride in the level of quality and customer service that we provide. In order to continually improve, we invite your feedback on our service and the quality of our products. You will be provided with a questionnaire that will give you the opportunity to tell us about your experience.
