Quality Concrete Masonry Units

PRODUCT DIMENSIONS AND DATA

Boehmers block is autoclave curedand therefore harder and morestable than block produced usingother curing methods. It ispreshrunk with a relative moisturecontent of less than 1%. Fully curedblock are less likely to chip or crackduring shipping and handling.

Moisture Control

The structure of an autoclave curedblock is less affected by changes inthe weather assuring a moredimensionally stable finished wall.Autoclaved units meet the "M" Classin the fourth facet of C.S.A. Allmasonry units are manufactured inmetric modular sizes conforming toCAN CSA A165.1 (CSA Standardson Concrete Masonry Units).

Less Efflorescence

The autoclave process eliminatesefflorescence that may form onblock surfaces. These deposits areformed from dissolved salts andfree lime that leach from inside theblock. The autoclave processconverts these active solublematerials into stable inertcompounds leaving the blocksurface attractive and comparativelystain-free

Order and Delivery

Not all concrete masonry units arestock items. With hundreds ofpossible combinations of colour,size, configuration and quantity,most orders are manufactured tojob specific requirements.

Credit will not be issued on the

return of concrete block units andaccuracy of the order, including anallowance for breakage, is whollythe responsibility of the customer.

1.4 Special instruction where ledge

block masonry is used:

It is important to note that bothleft and right hand corner unitsbe specified.The contractor shall, with anabrasive stone, rub down thelower edge of the ledge recessto remove rough or featherededges.

1.5 Special instruction where split

rib block is used:

It is the responsibility of thecontractor to remove smallamounts of loose concreteresidue from the recessbetween ribs of the units.

Colour in Autoclave CuredUnits

A wide variety of solid and rangecolours are available for autoclavecured units. Our standard selectionis shown in our literature, andactual samples are available onrequest. Contact your Boehmerssales representative during thedesign stage of the project to assureavailability and to discuss deliverydetails.

Special Considerations

● As shown in the detail drawings,only 10cm return corner units arecommonly used. The backup blockshould be colour matched orstandard grey and clearly specifiedor shown on the drawings.

● Colour for the mortar should bepre-selected to complement thecolour of the unit specified.

● Particular attention should bepaid to design details such asflashings, dampproofing and weepholes as preventative measures tominimize moisture penetration.

● It is the responsibility of thecontractor to ensure correctplacement of control joints asdirected by the architect. Pleasecontact your Boehmersrepresentative for furtherinformation.

● Subtle variations in shade andtexture of all coloured units isnormal due to the natural materialsused in the manufacturing process.

● No acid or acid based solutionsshould be used in the cleaning ofcoloured masonry products.
