● MY PRACTICEI am called to be a disciple of Christ and disciple others in my present vocation. Thestewardship of my practice is a holy calling and requires intentionality and will haveeternal consequences for me. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● LEADERSHIPAs a disciple of Christ and one who disciples others, I am called to leadership.Leadership is a function of character and not position. The skills of leadership can benurtured and developed. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● DISCIPLESHIPAccording to Matthew 28:19, Jesus calls each of us to go and to make disciples of allmen. The goal of discipleship is to “Present every man complete in Christ,” Colossians1:28-29. Discipleship is an intentional, lifelong process. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● BIBLICAL WORLDVIEWMy worldview is my ultimate core belief and, as a Christian, I believe in a personalCreator who created me to be in relationships with others for all eternity. Mine is anempowered, other-centered life that requires my radical obedience to our Lord andSaviour. I know that God always has my best interests at heart, and ultimately, it is allabout God and not me. Everything I do while living on earth has an eternalconsequence.

Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● COUNSELORAs a financial professional, I believe that it is necessary to listen to my clients and staffwith not only my head but also my heart. The skills required to do this can be nurturedand developed.

Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● GOALSMeaningful life planning always begins with goals. As goals always concern the future, they are a statement of faith and one of the primary ways that I can see God at work inmy financial affairs. A goal is not a goal until it is measured in terms of amount andtime period.

Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● LIFESTYLEThe Bible does not define an appropriate lifestyle. Each family unit determines lifestylefor itself. Financial contentment does not result from having a particular lifestyle, butrather, it results from living within the means of God’s provision.

Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● BORROWING AND DEBTBorrowing is not a sin, but it may deny God an opportunity to work, and it alwayspresumes upon the future. Consumptive borrowing will sentence one to a reducedlifestyle in the future and will limit financial flexibility currently and future financialfreedom. Borrowing may be symptomatic of spiritual issues. A husband and wifeshould be in complete harmony with borrowing decisions. Borrowing can lead to theinability to repay, which is a form of bondage. The Bible warns against being inbondage to anyone or anything. One of the keys to financial freedom is being totallyout of debt.

Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● BANKRUPTCYThe Bible clearly states in Psalm 37:21 that a believer should repay whatever heowes. As a result, bankruptcy with the aim of not repaying debts is not a legitimatealternative for a Christian. Bankruptcy may be used in certain situations to effectivelyprovide equitable treatment for all personal creditors.

Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

(Core Beliefs, continued) ● CHARITABLE GIVING

Giving is commanded in the scriptures both for the benefit of the recipient and for thebenefit of the giver. Increased giving should be an integral part of any maturingChristian’s life. The amount given should be prayerfully determined and not anautomatic 10%. According to scripture, giving should be done proportionately to one’sincome and net worth, and giving should be done regularly and cheerfully. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● BIBLICAL STEWARDSHIPBiblical stewardship could be defined as the use of God-given resources for theaccomplishment of God-given goals or objectives. It is a lifelong process of growth inspiritual character and implies that every spending decision is a spiritual decision. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● FINANCIAL PLANNINGFinancial planning is the allocation of limited financial resources to unlimitedalternatives, and it is applicable to anyone, at any income or net worth level (as allresources are ultimately limited.) Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● PRINCIPLES OF FINANCIAL SUCCESSThe five principles of financial success are to:

1. Spend less that you earn - Proverbs 13:112. Avoid the use of debt - Proverbs 22:73. Build liquidity - Proverbs 6:6-84. Set long-term goals – Philippians 3:145. Believe that God owns it all – Psalm 27:4.

Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● INVESTMENTSInvestments are a tool one uses to accomplish financial objectives and are not an endin and of themselves. One accumulates wealth by spending less than they earn over along time period. One preserves wealth by following the Biblical principles ofdiversification, professional advice, and a long time horizon. Investment speculationshould only be done after asking the question, “Would this money be better used bygiving to a Kingdom purpose?” and, secondly, “Can I afford to lose this money with noadversarial effect on my long-term goals?” Using my investments to make a statementof faith is legitimate and may or may not cost me something in the way of return and/orrisk. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● WORK AND RETIREMENTGod created man to work throughout a lifetime. Work is normative, not a result of thefall, and should be accompanied by a sense of satisfaction and enjoyment. Leisure is apart of God’s plan but not the objective of His plan. Work should be accompanied by asense of calling. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

(Core Beliefs, continued) ● NET WORTH

One cannot accumulate enough to feel financially secure, significant, or successful. However, everyone can answer the question, “How much is enough?” The answer willdiffer for every family and is a number that should be determined prayerfully andperiodically (as time results in many changing circumstances.) Net worth is always andonly a measurement of God’s provision and never a measurement of significance orsuccess. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● INCOME TAXESScripture commands that people pay their taxes. Taxes should never be a source ofcash-flow problems as they can always be adequately planned for. Tax planningshould never be the ultimate driving force in financial decisions. In many ways, incometaxes are an indicator of God’s blessings. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● LIFE INSURANCELife insurance should play an integral part in any financial plan, and buying lifeinsurance does not demonstrate a lack of faith, but rather prudent planning. Over-insuring for the purpose of protection is unscriptural, as only God ultimately providesthe protection we need. Having enough life insurance to provide for family needs is agood stewardship decision. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● WEALTH TRANSFERWealth transfer is different from estate planning in that it begins during one’s lifetime, and it considers the impact on the beneficiary as its primary objective. A beneficiaryshould never be surprised by the decisions of the steward. It is the last stewardshipdecision that God allows the steward to make. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

● TRAINING CHILDRENIt is by faith, with commitment, that a parent trains a child in the principles and skills ofmoney management. Both money and wisdom can be left to children, but wealth leftwithout wisdom can have dire consequences on future generations. Training childrento manage money involves not only the skill of money management but also theBiblical truths and principles underlying all stewardship planning and decision making. Agree Disagree – I have attached my own core beliefs for this area

I have reviewed the Kingdom Advisors Canada Core Beliefs and have either indicated that I agree with each core belief or I have attached my own core belief(s) as indicated.
