Dear Friends, I sat with the Lord as I always do in the same familiar place in my family room. I reached into my quiet time basket for my Bible, The Quiet Time Journal, my favorite devotionals, and my current Bible study, Trusting in the Names of God. In the current challenges and difficulties, my quiet time alone with the Lord, was, as it always is, a stabilizing and calming peace in the midst of the storms of life. And then I thought, These are the things we’ve been teaching in Quiet Time Ministries for years. And the thousands of men and women who have learned, and are now learning how to spend quiet time alone with the Lord, are discovering in new ways the practical application of all these spiritual lessons. Our time alone with the Lord is more important and relevant now than ever before! Oh, how we need the truth and promises from God in His word. And, oh, how we need to pour out our hearts in passionate prayer to the One who loves us most. The writer of Hebrews encouraged us, “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Be encouraged, beloved friend, that “times of refreshment will comes from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:20 NLT). I encourage you to cultivate quiet time alone with the Lord as I know He is going to reveal Himself to you in deeper ways and pour out His mercy, grace and love in your heart. “His mercies begin afresh each morning” and I am praying for you personally to experience all those gracious gifts and blessings daily from our Lord (Lamentations 3:23).
