qSCALE I2 Crane Configurator Tool The unique and “easy-to-use” qSCALE I2 Crane Configurator tool excludes complex application software programming.

Simple configuration of the crane parameters and features, including the SLI functions, significantly reduces the system integration time.

qSCALE I2 Crane Configurator comes with a comprehensive set of default graphics and languages, so the graphic layout can be defined in just a few clicks.

Detailed documentation of the crane configuration and crane data, as well as comprehensive service menus, are available on the console and PC.

The unique qSCALE I2 calibration process determines the geometric details of the crane from just a few initial geometric data, even if they are inaccurate.

This calibration process is completed within a few hours and is only necessary for the first prototype of the crane model. Further cranes of the same model require only reduced recalibration to compensate production tolerances.

qSCALE I2 Safe Load Indicator (SLI) Promising investments at the budget level

As part of the development of the iSCALE Control System, Hirschmann MCS provides a new SLI concept – The qSCALE I2:

An effective Safe Load Indicator system solution for small and medium-sized telescopic cranes

Know-how of complex high-technology solutions has been transformed to the Low-End level

Developed for current and future standards

HMI visualisation and load moment indication are integrated in only one device

System maintenance costs and repairs are minimized due to the high quality and reliability of the components

All standard sensor interfaces are supported: such as CANopen, 4…20mA, 0-10V and/or wireless sensors

Configuration instead of programming

Using the qSCALE I2 Crane Configurator Tool, the need for programming is eliminated.

No CoDeSys or other programming knowledge required

Configuration functions for applications can be executed by a system integrator or service partner

Minimization of the system integration time

Customized configuration of the HMI visualisation

Cost-effective use in the area of retrofitting

Numerous cranes of older design can be upgraded

Depending on the requirements, the crane configuration tool is available in 3 versions:

Reduced and simplified calibration of the crane

During the commissioning of the crane prototype, the calibration is reduced to a minimum and simplified through a menu-driven calibration process:

Time required for crane calibration is greatly reduced and completely documented

User friendly HMI menu driven calibration process

Calibration is only required during the commissioning of the crane prototype

For serial production of the crane only the necessary TÜV acceptance test and overload trips are required

Short calibration reduces the cost for the crane completion

For use in OEM and Retrofit crane applications

qSCALE I2 makes the job of the crane operator easier and safer

The crane operator also benefits from the new qSCALE I2 concept:

User-friendly and self-explaining HMI console supports the crane operator and increases protection against operator mistakes

Operator is guided step by step through each setting

Graphic elements visualize the crane setup and allow easy verification with the real crane configuration

Operating modes can be selected by graphic rather than anonymous numerical codes

The safety risk of choosing the wrong operating mode is minimized

Extended diagnostic and service menus reduce crane down-time

SLI features of qSCALE I2

Lifecycle support

Out-of-the-box, the qSCALE I2 supports a wide set of features used by telescopic crane applications:

Indirect measurement using one or two pressure sensors (piston side / rod and piston side pressure) and angle sensor

Telescoping synchronously or asynchronously (one length mea-surement only)

Support for optional jibs or inserts

Outrigger monitoring

Rigging state selection based on external signals

Rigging / transport modes

qSCALE I2 crane configurator tool supports the whole lifecycle of the crane:

Multiple pick points (not at the same time)

Multiple winches

Working range alarms

Configurable cut-off e.g.

- overload cut-off

- single movement

- wind speed or high voltage detection cut-off
