I have been a Deputy District Attorney for 13 years, assigned to some of the most elite unitswithin the LA DA' s office, the largest local prosecutor in the nation. I was specially recruited

into the VIP Special Victim' s Unit, Hardcore Gang Division, and Environmental Crimes Divisions. I am intimately familiar with the court system, having tried over seventy jury trials. I regularlywork with law enforcement at the city, county, state, and federal levels. I have worked in a

federally funded community policing program called CLEAR ( Community Law Enforcement andRecovery), and was assigned to some of the most violent sections of LA, including LAPDSouthwest ( Baldwin Village), and Southeast ( Watts), in an effort to build partnership between

the police and the public.

For eight years I have taught inner city fifth graders every week in the Constitutional RightsFoundation program called Project LEAD, giving me insight into school curriculums, youth

development, and teaching methods.

I am a Captain in the United States Air Force JAG Corp, having joined in 2012. In my time in the

military I have been exposed to diverse legal disciplines, including labor law, land -lord tenantlaw, environmental law, fiscal law, and family law to name a few, all of which are relevant toour city administration. I was the 2013 recipient of the American Trial Lawyers AssociationExcellence in Advocacy Award for exhibiting the best courtroom skills in JAG school.

In the private sector, I ran a small business in Los Angeles with over thirty employees and gross

receipts of over two -million dollars. In that capacity I worked with City of Los Angeles officials

to obtain conditional use permits and zoning variances.

I have been president of a service organization that had an annual budget of over $100,000. In

that capacity, I oversaw a fund- raising program for public schools and charity sponsorships.

I have been a real estate broker since 2013, familiarizing myself with local issues that impact

property values. Coupled with my law degree, I have experience in contracts and real propertylaw.

I graduated from USC Law School and served as a staff -writer in the Interdisciplinary Law

Journal honors program. I graduated magna cum laude with separate degrees in Political

Science and Cinema -Television Production from the top ranked USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Daily courtroom advocate, career total of 75 jury trials and 150 bench trials with a 95% favorable verdict rate. Draft complex litigation points and authorities, memoranda, contracts, jury instructions, legal reviews and briefs. Forensically interview witnesses and prudently make use of grand juries to make informed charging decisions. Litigate matters in nearly every Los Angeles County Courthouse, appearing before over 200 bench officers. Consult forensic accountants, physicists, engineers, chemists, pathologists, psychiatrists and psychologists.

Interface with local, county, state, and federal elected officials to highlight public safety concerns and priorities. Teach at -risk urban students in the classroom on a weekly basis about criminal justice, law, finance and ethics.
