Background
• Ongoing discussions about coordinating BUG advocacy efforts across the State to further cycling
• Outside of the cycling community and immediate sphere of influence little awareness of BUG’s
• Not easy to find out who’s who in the zoo even between BUG’s
Aims/ Opportunities
• Share experience and information e.g established BUG’s mentoring new BUG’s while they are getting on their feet
• Collaborate on submissions - share the intellectual load• Coordinate advocacy efforts at local, regional and State
levels… sing from the same hymn sheet wherever possible
• Contact point for agencies/ companies/ other community groups wanting to liaise with people representing local cycling interests
• Increase profile and awareness of grass roots efforts to improve cycling
Who will carry the CAN
• Collaborative self organising structure;
• Each group would be responsible for keeping BUG details up to date and posting relevant information;
• Unlikely to succeed if it falls back on just one or two people
