OPENING CEREMONY His Excellency Mr Mohammed bin Abdullah Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality inaugurated The Big 5 Qatar on September the 24th 2018 at Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre alongside Matt Denton, President of dmg events, Rashed Al Qurese Chief Marketing & Promotion O�cer for Qatar Tourism Authority, Rawad Sleem, Country Manager for dmg events and top ranking o�cials from foreign dignitaries and ambassadors some of whom supported their respective country pavilions - Austria, India, Poland, Indonesia, Romania, Iran, Japan, Hungary, Singapore, Italy, South Africa, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Canada, Ukraine and United Kingdom. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the minister toured the exhibition kicking-o� three days of networking, learning, and business opportunities.

LIVE TECHNICAL PRODUCTDEMONSTRATIONSThe Big 5 Qatar featured 23 live product demonstrations on an array of construction technologies covering specifications and know how on products from our 7 sectors. An exciting feature where visitors could compare and review products with technical experts live on the concourse at DECC. Throughout two-days of the event, exhibitors took to the stage to show their products and support clients in their buying process.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITYAT THE BIG 5 QATARSetting a standard for the next edition, The Big 5 Qatar welcomed a team of experts from Accessible Qatar, a community initiative from Sasol, came to The Big 5 Qatar to nominate the top most accessible stands at the event. On the final day, certificates were awarded to Qalex, Smeet, Zebrano, and Chip International, who each met the top most accessibility standards.

LEAD APP SCANNERThe Big 5 Qatar pioneered in the use of technology to improve face to face business. As part of their stand booking exhibitors at the event had access to a powerful lead collection app allowing them to capture client data right on their smartphones throughout the event. Over 5,000 leads were generated and exhibitors coined it as a must have tool for the next edition of the show

MEDIA FAMILIARIZATION TRIP The Big 5 Qatar and Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) welcomed leading journalists to Doha throughout the event, where they visited major infrastructure developments Al Rayyan Stadium and Qatar Rail. The media from Russia, Germany, Turkey and Italy, have all they need to promote Qatar in their home countries.

INTERNATIONAL HOSTED BUYER PROGRAMIntroducing international business to Qatar, in partnership with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), The Big 5 Qatar hosted buyers in Doha from Germany, Kuwait, Kenya, Lebanon, India, Morocco & Turkey. The buyers were introduced to Qatari construction SME’s and product manufacturers, promoting international business at the event.

CPD ACCREDITED WORKSHOPSOver 5,000 construction professionals attended The Big 5 Qatar to enhance their professional skills with 36 completely free-to-attend workshops covering Architecture, Infrastructure & Urban Planning, Project Management, Sustainability, Technology and General Construction. The amazing turn out has got us planning for more relevant content and to cover the hottest topics in 2019 – stay tuned!

WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTIONFor the first time in the country, The Big 5 Qatar launched the Women in Construction education series to highlight diversity and success stories of the Women pioneering the construction industry in Qatar.
