Chairman’s Club member Dan Waldron can’t stop
talking about the Future President’s Team Retreat
taking place this December in San Diego. “I’m
excited out of my mind about this!” he says.

Jennifer D.
Jennifer worked in a restaurant for eight

Terri R.

Leon Waisbein is no stranger to new horizons.
Born and raised in Siberia, Leon went from military service to a local medical school,where he met his wife Irina. But soon after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Leonand Irina found themselves at a difficult crossroads, and decided to immigrate to Israelto join other family members who lived there.
Emigration, chance jobs, starting a family – the Waisbeins experienced all the usualhardships of a young couple in a new country. To make matters even more challenging,Leon and Irina were unable to continue their medical education in Israel. Struggling tosupport his family, Leon found a job picking oranges. Yet even though his occupation hadchanged in a way he hadn’t expected, his positive outlook didn't. “It was great,”remembers Leon. “I had fresh air, endless oranges and $400 a month – I never had thatin Siberia!” He jokes, "The only problem was occasional falls from the orange trees.”
In 1991, a Siberian friend, Nikolay Mill, introduced Leon and Irina to Herbalife® products.They quickly became products of the products after Irina lost more than 20 pounds andLeon’s energy surged. It was then that they knew they had found the best way to reachtheir health goals, and also the best business opportunity to help them build their future.After Leon’s parents and grandmother also achieved great results with the products,Leon decided to become a full-time Independent Distributor. In the very first month, hehad 36 customers and earned an impressive retail profit. Encouraged by Leon’s success,some of his friends became Independent Distributors as well.
To further build his business, Leon never missed a single Herbalife event or qualification.In 1993, 18 of his downline Distributors joined him at the Extravaganza in Barcelona,Spain, many of whom later became Millionaire Team and President’s Team members. In1994, only a few years after starting the business from humble beginnings, Leon and Irinabecame Chairman’s Club members.*†

“But one of the biggest challenges I faced in getting there,” Leon remembers, “happenedduring my first year as an Independent Distributor, after qualifying for Global ExpansionTeam (GET). Instead of continuing to put all my efforts into developing my organization inIsrael, I decided to try and expand the business into a new country – Germany. After threeunsuccessful months there, a heavy two-month flood hit Israel, and all my Supervisors,Distributors and customers were, literally, ‘washed away.’ My initial reaction was, ‘Thebusiness is over! What’s next?’ But thanks to my Sponsor and my belief in the uniquebusiness opportunity that Herbalife presents, my attitude quickly changed to one of hopeand renewed dedication.”
Although Leon and Irina had to start again from scratch, they made the commitmentto build their business to even greater heights. “It took over six months to rebuild,”Leon recalls. “But I found that wasn’t the last time we would have to practically startover. Disaster happened to us again several times. In 1998, for example, we lost amassive part of our Russian business due to the local currency crisis and devaluation.But the lesson I learned in overcoming that first challenge – to always be constructiveand positive, with a clear vision of a great future – has helped me deal with unforeseenobstacles ever since.”
Incredibly, 18 years since picking oranges for a living, Leon now finds himself at the mostelite level of Herbalife's Marketing Plan. Through it all, he and Irina have many greatmemories and are thankful to so many people. “The best part was having the opportunityto learn from Mark Hughes, Jim Rohn and top Distributors,” says Leon. “I also feel luckyto have had Michael Cole as my upline Sponsor and friend – he has been a great sourceof knowledge, wisdom and inspiration to me.”
With the continued goal of helping others to fulfill their dreams, Leon recommends thefollowing recipe for success: “Don’t chase money. Bring value to people and the moneywill follow.” By practicing what they preach, Leon and Irina Waisbein have themselvesachieved their ultimate dream.

As the holiday season draws near, we focus even more
on the needs of the children who are served by our
Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) Casa Herbalife
programs. Many of them will not be sharing the holidays
with family members and loved ones, or enjoying a
feast to celebrate the end of a great year and the
beginning of another.
Last holiday season, Herbalife Independent Distributors
and staff members prepared and served hot meals to
members of the community with the teens from HFF’s
Casa Herbalife program in Los Angeles, A Place Called
Home. In Russia, Herbalife staff members planned an
exciting day of activities for the children served by
Udelnaya Boarding School, our Casa Herbalife program
in Moscow. At Sang Rok Won, one of two Casa
Herbalife programs in Korea, Distributors delivered gifts
to the children. And with the generous gifts of individual
Distributors to HFF, many Casa Herbalife programs have
been able to feed all their children for an entire year!
This has been a challenging year for many, and even
more so for those living in poverty. We hope you will

At Herbalife, success is something Distributors seem to attract more than pursue. This is true of Lourdesand Art Montero, who immigrated to the United States in search of the American dream. And thanks toHerbalife, they’ve made that dream a reality.
“There’s no better business opportunity,” explains Art. “We had nothing and started by handing out flyerson the street. Herbalife enabled us to earn an amazing income. If we could do it, anyone can!”

Initially, they built a strong business mainly by selling products, and earned enough to cover their livingexpenses. But for many years, they hadn’t achieved their goal of a much higher income, which madethem wonder, “When will it happen for us?”
“But we stayed confident,” they say. “We knew that, sooner or later, greater things would happen if we keptfocused on our sales, recruitment and daily product demonstrations, and faithfully followed up with our clients.”

“I was working harder than ever but bringing inzero income.”
Although in early 2007 the recession started to show the first signs of
worsening, that didn’t stop Ken Fearer and his wife Shelley, a hair
dresser at the time, from investing in a printing company Ken had
managed for 14 years. It wasn’t long before the Fearers began to feel
