WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR

MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?

I think that the Bauer Media Institution may want to distribute my media product; this is because they already distribute other music magazines and may want to distribute another music magazine to widen their portfolio. The Bauer Media institution currently distribute no Classical music magazines, therefore there will be no competition with the other music magazines as The Classics is a different genre of music to what is already being distributed. Bauer Media distribute magazines such as Kerrang, Kiss, MOJO, Q and Zoo which are all popular magazines, therefore if Bauer distributed my media products it would be good because of the amount of people who already purchase the popular magazines that Bauer distribute.

THE TIMES INC.

I also think that The Times would be a good media institution to have my magazine distributed by, this is because they publish magazines such as NME and Uncut which are popular magazines, therefore The Times have a certain following. If my media product was distributed by The Times then there would be a good chance that my magazine will become a good seller because of the fact that people already purchase popular magazines that they distribute and will purchase my media product when browsing through the selection of other magazines that The Times distribute.

IMAGINE PUBLISHING(IP)

IP are based in Bournemouth in the UK and they print 25 magazines ranging from Technology to Science. Whilst researching IP, I saw that they don’t publish any music magazines, therefore IP would be a good institution to print my magazine. IP would be a good institution to distribute my magazine because there is no competition with other magazines that they produce at the moment because there isn’t anything similar to my product.

MY CHOICE OF DISTRIBUTOR…I think that I would like The Times Inc. to distribute my magazine, this is because they have a lot of good, solid music magazines already which are very popular and successful. I don’t think that The Classics will have any competition with the other magazines as The Classics is a different genre of music from what The Time distribute already.
