HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT A PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

(Music Magazine)

My media product represents a particular social group in many ways in terms of Psychographics, Demographics and also through the from and conventions I’ve used to create this music magazine so that when advertised the right consumers know what its based on.

The images I’ve used help to portray young black Christian females who are and who want to make it in the Gospel industry goes against the stereotype that young black Christian males are more successful in that genre (industry) e.g. Gunva B, Faith Child, Victizzle etc. Also the content of my magazine is also represents a social group as this magazine encourages young black females to broad their knowledge of Black Christian female artists such as CeceWinas, Yolanda Adams and Mary Mary etc

Although the music genre of my magazine has a dominant representation of teens as ‘Urban Gospel’ music usually involves church events and gospel rap events and contest etc e.g.

As shown from this, the costume represents the social group of a professional upper class buisnessman. This is because the character is dressed formally (suit, white shirts, briefcase etc)

So for my magazine I made it clear about what social group my magazine will represent through gesture and clothing (the jacket, turban, jeans and vans) are the new trends which the youth today are comfortable in.
