I’m so extremely proud of the hard work put into this first half of the school year by everyone here at PVMKR. In addition to the hard work, the kindness displayed by our students and our community has been second to none. Thank you so much for the hundreds of toys that were brought into our school. Some of these toys went to our neediest students here at PVMKR. A giant SUV filled to the brim with various gifts and games was delivered to Southwoods Elementary School just last week. I will be delivering a giant box of various games, footballs, and toy guitars to Otis Mason Elementary where they will be given to families and children in need this holiday season. Thank you so much to our PTO who organized this wonderful event. Of course, besides hard work, we like to celebrate here at PVMKR! If your child seems extra festive this afternoon, it might be because they spent their enrichment time today singing a variety of holiday songs with their classmates. Thank you so much to our enrichment teachers, especially Ms. Hunt and Ms. Suppa for this wonderful event. Personally, I learned that if the 12 days of Christmas were actually purchased today for a loved one, it would cost nearly $50,000! Looks like my wife is getting perfume again this year. . . Finally, I can’t express enough to all of you my deepest appreciation for the prayers, the cards, and messages of condolence for the passing of my father. The holidays will be a little sad this year, but I look forward to making memories with my family and I know you will all be busy doing the very same thing. From all of us here at PVPV/Rawlings we wish you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year.

PVPV/Rawlings Elementary

You can sense the excitement in the hallways of PVPV Rawlings. Students, teachers, staff, and parents (and the principal, for that matter) are clearly excited for the upcoming holiday break.

Florida law prohibits using a handheld “wireless communication device” while operating a vehicle in any school zone, school crossing, or work zone. The definition of a wireless communication device is broad and includes cellphones, tablets, laptops, and similar devices.

No-Phone-Zone Reminder

The district has updated our school web site so that it

The 5th graders traditionally have focused on honoring our military. After a

learning segment about veterans for Veterans Day and sending letters,

cards, to family members that are veterans as well as collecting bones,

Kongs, etc to the November class at K9s for Warriors, we extended our

learning project a bit further.

Thanks to Mrs. Miller, we had a connection to the U.S.S. Lincoln. We held

a 5th grade contest to create a design for a flag that would not only be

sent and hung on the U.S.S. Lincoln, but would also returned back to

PVPV/Rawlings as the 5th grade gift to our school. We also had the

children create holiday cards for the soldiers on the ship as well as stuff

stockings with candy. All of the cards, letters and stockings will be sent to

the U.S.S. Lincoln.

The flag was designed by Kate Mase, Layann Issa, Bella Sharpe and

Olivia Shinners. Kate designed the bottom portion, with the nautical

characters to represent our state. Layann, Bella and Olivia designed the

top with our school logo as well as our mascot, the sea turtles.

Hello Families! Our school is proud to partner with the American Heart Association with Kids Heart Challenge. Over the next few weeks, our students will be having fun learning about their hearts with the Heart Heroes while raising money to help fund lifesaving research. Our school goal is to raise $10,000, and in addition to helping the American Heart Association, our school can earn free PE equipment. Students can earn their own Heart Hero Characters this year by using the new mobile app (download the Kids Heart Challenge app) or visit heart.org/kidsheartchallenge to sign up and raise money online! Just for signing up to save lives, your student will earn a free wristband! Plus, the mobile app brings all of the Heart Hero Keychains and wristband badges your student earns to life! All donations are due on February 18th and our event days are February 10th-14th and the 18th. Thank you for helping a great cause!Happy New Year to All!!
