“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:36–40 (NIV)

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18–20 (NIV)

WELCOMEHi Friends!

I want to personally thank you for attending this “Introduction to the Global PEACE Church.” I am thrilled that you are here and are considering implementing these key concepts in your church! It is my desire for your life and your church to be blessed by God as we work together to do the unimaginable.

Together, let’s care about what God cares about most, which is his lost children being found, caring about “the least of these” and the growth of his church; growing warmer through fellowship, deeper in discipleship, wider through ministry, and extending all around the world through evangelism. That is what God wants.

At Saddleback Church, we focus our outreach efforts to do the five things that Jesus did during his ministry time on earth. It is our desire to not only do what Jesus did but also to focus on empowering churches around the globe to do the same. Get ready for God to use ordinary people in your church in extraordinary ways! I am so glad that you are here on the very front end of this exciting and world changing adventure.

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

It is automatic, it is mystical, it is instantaneous, it is knowledge only, it is private, solely gained through bible study.

Become what we are committed to, must as for a commitment to get it, people want to commit to something that gives them significance.

TRUST PEOPLE WITH RESPONSIBILITY ____________________

KEEP THE VISION BEFORE THEM

____________________IF EVERY MEMBER IS TO BE DEVELOPED AS A MINISTER, PASTORS MUST LEARN TO TRUST PEOPLE.

PEOPLE WILL RESPOND TO AS MUCH RESPONSIBILITY AS YOU GIVE THEM.

PEOPLE WILL BE CREATIVE IF YOU LET THEM BE CREATIVE.

HELP PEOPLE TO DEVELOP A MINISTRY BASED ON THEIR SHAPE.

FREQUENTLY RESTATE THE VISION OF EVERY PERSON BECOMING A LAY MINISTER.

RECOGNIZE AND PROMOTE ALL THE MINISTRIES. OCCASIONALLY HOLD A MINISTRY FAIR.

ENCOURAGE MEMBERS WHO HAVEN’T YET FOUND A MINISTRY TO TAKE CLASS 301.

“THE NEHEMIAH PRINCIPLE: VISION MUST BE SHARED AGAIN EVERY 26 DAYS.” - RICK WARREN

Half the time it took Nehemiah to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem.

FOR A CHURCH TO GROW, TWO THINGS MUST HAPPEN:

1. The pastor must give up control of the ministry. 2. The people must give up control of leadership.

GOD USES THE PERSON WHO HAS A DREAM ____________________

SETTING GOALS ____________________

SEEING GOD’S VISION ____________________

ASK YOURSELF: What would I attempt for God if . . .

I knew I couldn’t fail?

STOP PRAYING: “Lord bless my plans.”

INSTEAD PRAY: “Help me to do what you are blessing.”

We OVERESTIMATE what we can do in 1 year and UNDERESTIMATE

what we can do in 10 years.

“God . . . is able to do far more that we would ever dare to ask or even dream of–Infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.” Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)

4342

WILLING TO RISK FAILURE ____________________

God expects fruitfulness in our lives!

EXPECT THE CHURCH TO GROW____________________

Never let an impossible situation intimidate you. Let it: MOTIVATE YOU!

SATAN’S GREATEST TOOL AGAINST PASTORS:

Fear of FAILURE! TWO WAYS TO ELIMINATE IT:

1. Redefine failure 2. Don’t compare yourself to others

SATAN’S FAVORITE WORDS:

“You CAN’T do it.” TODAY’S IMPOSSIBLE PROBLEM

Can be Tomorrow’s Achievement

Live taking RISKS because that is where we TRUST God. Impossible Possible DONE!

4544

NEVER GIVE UP ____________________

GREAT PEOPLE ARE JUST ORDINARY PEOPLE WHO . . .

. . . have extraordinary commitment and don’t know how to quit.

HUMANITY AND BIG GOALS ____________________

Let us not become weary in doing good.

Galations 6:9 (NIV)

Though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again!

Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)

KEY POINTS

• You are never a failure until you quit. • It is always too soon to give up.

YOU WILL BE CRITICIZED.

YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS THAT ARE SO BIG THEY CAN ONLY BE SOLVED BY PRAYER.

YOU WILL MAKE DUMB MISTAKES.

THE DREAM WILL BE SO BIG, THAT YOU’RE BOUND TO FAIL UNLESS GOD DOES A MIRACLE.

OTHERS WILL TAKE CREDIT FOR YOUR WORK.

FAITH

What are you expecting God to do inyour ministry?

The one thing we do have control over:

How much we CHOOSE to believe God

For after David had served God’s purpose in his generation, he died.
