Numeracy Challenge 6

For fun, Mr Binns has been listing, in ascending order, the positive integers that are not factors of 240. What would be the sixth number that he wrote down?

There were 455 entries the previous challenge last week, with around 30% of them finding the correct answer. Charlotte Henderson, from 8 Beesley, was the winner. She found that the increase in price was 135%. This was because £564 ÷ £240 is 2.35, with the original amount being 100%, the rest must be the increase. 1.35 x 100 = 135%.

To enter the Weekly Numeracy Challenge complete the weekly test that

is set on Firefly.

th October is World Food Day

Mr. Marsden It has been a sad day for our Saint Bede’s family as the funeral of Ruby McKinless, who attended Saint Bede’s from 2015-2020, has taken place at St Nicholas’ church in Wrea Green. I attended the funeral with Mr Langley to represent you all. Please remember Ruby and her friends and family in your thoughts and prayers. Well done again to all those of you who were involved in the two recent bake sales. You raised almost £500 which will make a huge difference to people locally and in developing countries. Finally, please take note of the new arrangements for lateness starting on Monday. Make sure you are on site and in your form room or assembly before 8.55am – as the vast majority of you already do each day. I do not want to see anyone in detention for lateness. Have a lovely weekend. Mr Marsden
