M.A (RELIGIOUS STUDIES) PART-II

(ANNUAL)

2014-2015 and 2015-2016 EXAMINATIONS

OUTLINES OF TESTS

There are four papers in M.A (Religious Studies) Part II. Each paper carries 100

marks and is of three hours duration. Stipulated teaching hours for each paper are 125.

PAPER- V : Philosophy of Religion

PAPER- VI : Philosophy of Sikhism

PAPER- VII : Option (i) Islam and Sufism

Option (ii) Bhagat Bani and Dasam Granth

PAPER- VIII : Option (i) Jainism and Buddhism

Option (ii) Interpretation of Gurbani,

Gurmat Sangeet

Option (iii) Inter Religious Understanding

and Dialogue

NOTE

Candidates are required to opt for either Options (i) of Paper 3 and Paper 4 or Options

(ii) of Paper 3 and Paper 4. Those who opt for Options (i) in M.A. Part-I will have to opt

for Options (i) of Paper 7 and Paper 8 in M.A. Part-II, similarly those who opt for

Options (ii) in M.A. Part-I will have to opt for any Option of Paper 7 and Paper 8 in

M.A. Part II.

The question paper will consist of five sections : A, B, C, D and E. Sections A, B,

C and D will have two questions each from the respective sections of the syllabus and

will carry 15 marks each. Section E will consist of 10 short-answer type questions of four

marks each which will cover the entire syllabus uniformly and will carry 40 marks in all.

The candidates are required to give answer of each short type question in 50 words i.e. in

7-10 lines.

Candidates are required to attempt one question each from the section A, B, C and

D of the question paper and the entire Section E. The candidates are required to give

answer of each short type question in 50 words i.e. in 7-10 lines.

Maximum Marks: 100

Theory Marks: 80

Internal Assessment Marks: 20

Minimum Pass Marks: 35%

Time: 3 hours

The question paper will consist of five sections: A, B, C, D & E Section A, B, C

& D will have two questions each from the 4 respective sections of the syllabus and will

carry 12 marks each. The students are required to attempt one question from each section.

Section E will consist of 8 short-answer type questions which will cover the entire

syllabus. Each short answer type question will carry four marks each and 32 marks in all.

There being no internal choice in this section. The Candidates are required to give answer

of each short- type question in 50 words i.e. in 7-10 lines.

Instructions for the Dept. of Distance Education Candidates

Candidates are required to attempt one question each from the sections A, B, C, D

of the question paper and the entire section E. The Candidates are required to give answer

Candidates are required to attempt one question each from the section A, B, C and

D of the question paper and the entire Section E. The candidates are required to give
