2. GENERAL SAFETY RULES2.1. STRICTLY AVOID AIMING THE GUN AT SOMETHING, SHOOTING OF WHICH IS NOT SAFE.

Don’t direct the gun’s barrel to your own body or someone else’s body. This is significant particularly when you are loading and unloading the gun. When you shoot at a target, be careful about what is behind the target. If you miss or hit the target, ensuring that the shoot doesn’t lead to an unexpected injury or damage is under your responsibility.

2.2. ALWAYS ACT AS IFTHE GUN IS LOADED.

Never assume that the gun is empty. In order to determine whether there is any magazine in the shıt-guns, you must check the magazine rest and magazine tube. You can understand whether your rifle is full only in this way.

2.3. HIDE YOUR RIFLE SO THAT CHILDREN DON’T HAVE ANY ACCESS

Access of children under the age of 18 an other unauthorized person to your rifle is under your responsibility. Please unload your gun in order to reduce the risk of accidents involving children. Lock the rifle and keep the ammunition locked at a separate place.

Page 8: PUMP-A PUMP-ACTION SHOCTION SHOTTGUNGUN · 2016. 9. 21. · the shotgun must be repaired only at authorized services. 2.14. making mechanical modifications on the parts of the shotgun

8

2.4. DON’T SHOOT AT WATER OR A HARD SURFACE

Shooting at the water or a hard surface causes the drop shot to change direction unexpectedly, as a result of which you or people around you might get injured.

2.5. KNOW THE SAFETY FEATURE OF THE GUN YOU ARE USING; HOWEVER, DON’T FORGET THAT SAFETY DEVICES CAN’T TAKE THE PLACE OF SAFE USAGE PROCEDURES.

Don’t rely solely on the safety tool in terms of preventing the accidents. It is essential that you know the safety features of the gun you are using; accidents can be prevented best by complying with the safety rules and safe usage procedures defined in the product manual. Accidents are always a result of not complying with basic safety rules.

2.6. NEVER CLIMB A TREE, FENCE OR A SET WITH A LOADED GUN.

Before climbing up or down a tree or climbing a fence or jumping off a dike or a set, open your gun, unload the magazine and lock the hand safety. Don’t push towards yourself or someone else or push it with a loaded gun.

2.4 2.5 2.6

Page 9: PUMP-A PUMP-ACTION SHOCTION SHOTTGUNGUN · 2016. 9. 21. · the shotgun must be repaired only at authorized services. 2.14. making mechanical modifications on the parts of the shotgun

2.7. PERFOR PROPER MAINTENANCE OF YOUR GUN.

Keep your gun in its bag so that dirt or dust doesn’t accumulate on the operating parts. Clean and lubricate your gun in accordance with the instructions in the use manual in order to prevent barrel damage and contamination, since you will need to use it in case of emergency. Always make sure that the barrel is clean (purged of cloggings such as dirt, mud, oil, magazine, magazine residue) before loading the barrel. Firing the gun despite the clogging might cause the barrel to swell and you or people near you to get injured.

If you hear a strange sun when you fire the gun, stop the shooting operation immediately, activate the safety and unload the gun. Make sure that chamber and the barrel is not clogged, and the magazine is not stuck in the gun due to use of incorrect or improper ammunition.

2.8. ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES AND HEADPHONES.

Back blast of gas, gun powder and metal parts and their injuring the shooter is an improbable possibility, but unprevented injuries that occur in such cases that cover visual loss are serious. The shooter must always use an impact-resistant shooting goggle when firing the gun. The goggles will help to minimize the hearing damage that stems from the shooting process.

10

2.9. USE PROPER AMMUNITION.

Only use factory filled, industrial type, newly manufactured magazines. Make sure that each magazine you use is in accordance with the calibre and type of the gun. Calibre of the gun is clearly specified on the barrel. Refilled or reproduced magazines might increase the potential magazine pressure, cartridge head leap and other defects, which might damage your gun, injure you or people around you. Don’t use magazines, which are longer than magazine rest. This poses a danger for the shooter as well as the gun.

2.10. AVOID CONSUMING ALCOHOLIC DRINKS OR drugs THAT WEAKEN THOUGHTS AND REFLEXES.

Don’t shoot the gun after consuming alcohol. If you are using any drug that weakens reflexes and thoughts, don’t use the gun when you are under the effect of the drug.

11

2.11. DON’T TRANSPORT THE GUN WHEN IT IS LOADED.

Unload the shotgun before putting it in a car. (magazine rest is empty). Hunters and target shooters must load their shotguns when they reach their destinations. If you are carrying a gun for self-protection purposes, keep the magazine rest empty in case of accidental firing.

2.12. MAKE SURE THAT YOU KNOW THE OPERATION MODES OF THE SHOTGUN VERY WELL BEFORE USING OR LOADING IT.2.13. THE SHOTGUN MUST BE REPAIRED ONLY AT AUTHORIZED SERVICES.2.14. MAKING MECHANICAL MODIFICATIONS ON THE PARTS OF THE SHOTGUN IS DANGEROUS AND PROHIBITED. DON’T FORGET THAT PRODUCTS SUBJECTED TO SUCH OPERATIONS WILL BE OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY SCOPE.

2.15. THE PERSON USING THE SHOTGUN MUST BE AT 2 METERS DISTANT TO OTHER PERSONS MINIMUM.The person using the shotgun must be 2 meters distant to other persons minimum for safety reasons. When carrying your shotgun, don’t forget that leaping the barrel position upwards is of vital importance for your and people around you.

5.2. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING OF THE SHOTGUN

It is very important to be well-informed on the maintenance and cleaning of the shotgun. Experiences have shown that most of the problems that occur while operating the shotgun stems from maintenance errors. It is essential to attach particular importance to cleaning, lubricating and protection of the shotgun. These operations determine whether the shotgun will function appropriately when you need it .

After using the shotgun, clean the dirt, combustion residues and oil that form on the external sides. Pull back the mechanism group, clean the internal parts until combustion residues are completely eliminated by means of the cleaning rod, dry it and lubricate with shotgun oil. When putting aside the shotgun when necessary and particularly at the end of the hunting season, perform a complete disassembly, clean an lubricate each part of the shotgun. Cleaning must be performed with a soft brush and by immersing it in oil. Don’t use corrosive and metal objects for cleaning. Make sure that all the gunshot residues are cleaned. After the shooting, since inner parts of the barrel and gas cylinder, gas outlet holes, chamber and piston will be contaminated with more gunshot residue, these parts must be cleaned and lubricated thoroughly.

When the maintenance of your shotgun is neglected and especially when it is not used for a long period of time, make sure that piston is moving on the magazine cap easily. If the piston doesn’t move easily, remove and clean it and ensure that it moves after lubrication. When putting aside a shotgun, which will not be used for a long period of time, make sure that mechanism group is closed and the hammer is dropped.

Cleaning and lubricating a firearm is the the best guarantee for protecting the gun against corrosion, which forms on respective parts as a result of combustion. Maintenance of SARSILMAZ semi-automatic shotgun is not difficult because of their simplicity and quality of material.

6.4. INTENDED USE OF CHOKE(* Only M204 Hunter models)

Chokes are intended for shotgun’s firing shots to the required distance in an integrated manner. You can change the chokes according to the type of prey you’d like to hunt. Using wrong chokes types might damage the barrel.

WARNING: Use the single bullet (dum-dum bullet) cartridges with barrels( ***** )which are equipped with chokes. If single bullet cartridge is used with barrels, which are equipped with other types of chokes, you can damage both yourself and your shotgun. Before firing your shotgun with steel shot cartridges, make sure that chokes are marked with ‘steel shot.’ Otherwise, you might damage your shotgun and the chokes.

Look at the notches on the side to identify the chokes in the barrel. The number of stars indicates the number of notches choke. (Figure 28)

SARSILMAZ “M204 Hunter” Pump Action hunting type shotguns come with tubes and choke tube wrench. Your barrel is threaded for your choke tubes.

For internal tubes, insert the wrench into the slotted portion of the tube and turn counterclockwise to remove it from the barrel and turn clockwise to install it. (Figure 29)For external tubes, simply grasp the knurled end of the tube and twist it off or on as necessary.

WARNINGWhen installing a choke tube in your barrel, make sure that the tube is completely screwed down tight is the barrel, never discharge your shotgun without the choke tubes installed as this may damage the barrel. Choke tubes may become loose after extended firing and should be checked frequently for tight.

9. ASPECTS WHICH WILL BE CONSIDERE OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF WARRANTY

1. Apply the rules specified in the use manual to you rifle. Avoid violating these rules.2. When the maintenance of your rifle is neglected and especially when it is not used for a long period of time, make sure that piston is moving on the magazine cap easily. (Move the piston and ensure that it moves freely). Clean the frozen dirt or oil residues on your gun an lubricate it.3. Before fitting the barrel to the receiver, make sure that hammer is not stuck and mechanism group operates smoothly.4. When installing the fore-end (for wooden fore-ends), assemble it slowly by avoiding contact with the back support. For plastic fore-ends, perform the assembly slowly in a way that fore-end aligns with the tab channels.5. Perform the installation of the gun when it is unloaded by securing it and making sure that fore-end is not moving.6. When putting aside a gun, which will not be used for a long period of time, make sure that mechanism group is closed and the hammer is dropped.7. During hunting, make sure that muzzle is not obstructed. Otherwise, damages which stem from incorrect use may occur on your rifle. (The swelling stems from firing the gun when the “shock area” is obstructed.)8. Don’t install indented shocks on your rifle. Don’t leave the shock in a slack position. Fit it into its slot properly.9. Don’t keep the fore-end part of wooden fore-end motels we or in a wet area. Clean the wooden part of your gun after shooting under rainy weather conditions. Protect your rifle against shocks and impacts.10. Don’t leave the external surface of your gun wet or humid and avoid using chemical materials for cleaning. Damaged oil might cause oxidation or paint removal.11. If you will not use your gun for a long period of time, remove the shock and put it in the storage box.12. Only use factory filled, industrial type, newly manufactured magazines. Make sure that each magazine you use is in accordance with the calibre and type of the gun. Strictly avoid using rechargeable magazines.13. Shoot the single bullet magazines with cylinder shock barrels. Don’t use steel shot magazines.14. For rifles with shocks, don’t use the barrel when it is not equipped with the shock.15. Don’t use vegetable or animal oil for the maintenance of your rifle.

WARNINGPLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES STATED ABOVE. IF NOT FOLLOWED AND THERE IS A FAILURE, THE SHOTGUN WARRANTY WILL BE VOID. PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES STATED ABOVE. IF NOT FOLLOWED AND THERE IS A FAILURE, THE SHOTGUN WARRANTY WILL BE VOID.
