When choosing my image, I learnt that there is a variety of factors that I must take into consideration. For example the facial expression of the person, must be suitable for the article. The facial expression of the artist on Forward is confident and serious because he is the front covers feature and the target audience is both male and female, who listen to rnb and hip hop. An image can say alot of things about a person or an idea. The image for my preliminary task is of a girl, with a happy facial expression. This represents the target market for the Consortium magazine, which is male and female students aged 14-18. As you can see, the image taken for my preliminary task is a simple image however; the image taken for my final magazine is more complex because the artist is holding and wearing items that are well established in the music industry, for example a Louis Vuitton briefcase, Rolex watch and Ralph Lauren polo. The image is also edited, which makes the magazine stand out, attracting the audience.

From looking at my preliminary task, I knew I needed more lures to attract the reader. I used bright, vibrant colours and different styles and fonts to enhance the final magazines aesthetics.
